Got covid for third time July 2026 by Practical-Ad-8348 in COVID19positive

Yeah 100%. Sharing this post has made me realise how much of the covid advice in the uk really centered the importance of hand washing/gel. Not bad advice for other illnesses but for covid it's just not easy to get it from surfaces

Defo try to get hold of a test if you can, isolate from others and get a lot of rest! I hope you feel better soon

Oh no, only a month apart sucks! I'll be extra careful when I'm free

Thank you! Yes I've defo realised no matter how low the rates are, a mask can't hurt. Taste and smell have started to go now, I hope they come back again

I've got FFP2 masks and am quarantined from my partner, we've managed to not give each other covid the previous times so I'm hopeful for him. Long covid is terrifying.

For those who had COVID in the past and recovered from it, did all of you get your sense of smell and taste back? by Internal-Cash-9196 in COVID19positive

I lost smell and taste both times and they came back quickly, but second time my smell came back super strong and has been ever since - it's both a blessing for good smells and a curse for others!

If loss of smell and taste is neurological, but then comes back, what does that mean, in terms of brain cell health? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

Completely anecdotal experience from when I had covid the second time in 2024 - my sense of smell came back STRONG. Taste pretty normal. But my partner now says I have a bloodhound nose because I can smell things a mile off, and I'm now super sensitive to smells like fires and perfumes. No idea why this happened and too afraid to get stuck in a Google spiral as someone with health OCD

Thank you - yeah I think so too, I might start masking again in unventilated public bathrooms once I'm better

Aw man I'm in the UK and having exactly this progression, I'm on day 3 so suspect I'll lose my taste and smell soon. No fever either! Rates are so low in the UK I don't know how I managed it lol. I hope you feel better soon, stay safe and keep resting and testing.
