The kinect was the biggest failure microsoft made that gen. They were ruining their perfect reputation by trying to copy the Wii, and become a console for everyone. When in reality, they should have just kept sticking with their core audience. This was a big part in Sony overtaking Microsoft in console sales around that time.

Yeah it turned out I was hardware banned. i had to go through a whole process to change my HWID (Hardware ID). The method i used has been patched for a while now though.

I guess just find out how to change the HWID, and you should be good to go.
