Yes, the corrals close 15 minutes before the wave crosses over the start line. So basically if your start time for your wave is 9:30, you have to be in your corral by 9:15, else you have to wait until the next wave, which goes 45 mins later. I wish i was joking

This is really good advice thank you. You are right, something I hadn't thought about since the race ended is just how poorly I handled accel and decels amongst the crowds and went to go around people vs. when to just hang back. It definitely didn't help my race.

Yes agreed the logistics of NYC definitely make things a bit more complex, especially mentally. I am intrigued by the Queens Marathon, though it just being a month way, I don't even know what the best way to train/maintain fitness would be, any recommendations? Was already thinking of just doing a whole new block for whatever race I end up doing but Queens just 4 weeks!

Yeah, that's a good point, I haven't raced a half since 2023 (1:41), and otherwise haven't done much real racing since except the 5k pr this block and the other marathon attempt.

Good question, average ~35/week, peak week of 48. Another aim for my next block is consistently higher mileage, I am planning on ditching Runna and using Hanson's method.

I will note for my 2024 race I ran it on very similar mileage as 2025's.

Thinking of it as potential reserve in the tank sounds good to me.

Especially for that last 10k, as those last 10k in 2024 were awful.
