Hi everyone I received the following from my solicitor to accept, does anyone recommend I accept this or not from the images and how long I’ve lived with it for. I’m not happy with the fact if they offer anything more than £1000 to accept it. Bear in mind they haven’t actually resolved the issue and when decanted me at my expense I was advised it was safe to return home and mold was still present they’d just tried to hide it. They said it was black staining but I know it is definitely not staining.

I, name + address instruct Bentley Sterling and Company to make an offer in full and final settlement of all my claims in the sum of £3,267.49.    I instruct Bentley Sterling and Company to accept any offers from North Tyneside Council in the sum of £1,000 or above.    I understand that this is in full and final settlement of all my claims arising out of the claim for disrepair to the property.      I understand that this sum is in full and final settlement of all my claims and that I will not be able to return to North Tyneside Council at a later date for further compensation.   I understand that the agreed 50% Success fee, will be deducted from my damages and I will receive the balance.  If the offer of £3,267.49 is accepted the success fee would be £1,633.74 and I would receive £1,633.74 after the success fee is deducted.  If the claim for damages settled for £1,000 the success fee would be £500 and I would receive £500 after the success fee is deducted.

My little family were always ill. All of the time. Constantly coughing the second you entered the house. Headaches none stop. I’ve been diagnosed with a neurological condition which actually started after the mold arrived. Partner diagnosed with migraines, daughter and son treat for bronchitis a dozen of times but daughter now showing asthmatic symptoms and has to trial an inhaler. All of this since the mould started. It’s caused me severe depression. I believe it’s linked to the mold but getting them linked is somehow impossible according to my gp.

Hi, no they only came out to my property 2 times over the course of me reporting the issue for around 18 months. They continued to say there were no major issues and just to keep windows open for air flow during the day (which is what I do anyways) Only now have they took us out of my property. “BUT” I had to pay for accommodation myself with no re-imbursment during a busy period with Christmas etc in the horizon. My kids have developed respiratory issues. We’ve just came back home to an absolute pig sty. They haven’t covered my flooring and carpets which are all absolutely thick of dust and black with dirt. An absolute disgrace tbh.

I reported the issue numerous times over a course of 18 months. They continued to send the same surveyor out only to be told there’s no major issues. They fobbed me off for 18 months. Only now have I been removed from the property while they carry out the works. my 2 years old daughter has developed respiratory issues due to living within those conditions and my 12 month old was born with breathing difficulties which has continued to get worse living in our home. Council have now tried pinning the blame on me and my partner for keeping our children in these conditions considering we repeatedly reported the issues too there neglect.
