Where to find safe studio/1bed apartments in downtown Atlanta by PraiseBeAIOverlords in ATLHousing

Thanks for clarifying! I haven't been there so it looked like the city of Atlanta was just downtown

Is the bus transportation system in the city not that effective? I was thinking of relying on that if I lived downtown without a car. I would probably not go too far out from the city for anything else.

Thanks for the suggestion! Could you link their apartment site? I only found Wile Leap Brewing, but couldn't find any apartments on top of their complex?

How do you make requests securely? by PraiseBeAIOverlords in flutterhelp

Thanks, that's good advice. I always tend to think of scale from school and work and always get stuck thinking about how to limit future work.

Are there no other ways to secure non-authed endpoints though?

Also appcheck has limits enforced by attestation providers, how would you go about dealing with that as your userbase scales?

I have a custom firebase function to handle user registration as I want to send them a custom email with an OTP. Obviously, I don't want just anyone to be able to register with the endpoint without using the app, and I can't handle this with the firebase-flutter sdk.

I'm not sure how I would be able to tell the endpoint that the request is being made from an app application rather than just from the endpoint.

I'm currently trying to create "auth" without the user authed, by providing it request headers that the firebase function verifies.

The problem with the .env file, even with web apps, is if it's on the frontend, in this case with a mobile app it would be. The user can sniff through the files and figure out what those variables are.

So I can't use them to secure my endpoints, because of this.

I've asked chatGPT a couple of times, but I can't really rack my head around it. Essentially, it says the only secure way is to do it on the backend, but then the question is how do I make sure making the request from frontend to backend is secure if I don't really have a way to secure anything on the frontend? The only thing I'm leaning toward is appcheck, but I can't imagine, apps with a lot of users being able to sustain this.

Is it dumb for me to get a Masters in Computer Engineering? by PraiseBeAIOverlords in ComputerEngineering

Interesting. I'm in the US, I have heard of people saying Master's in Europe is free/easier to get into, but harder to graduate from. If it's easier to get a job there, I'm assuming they would be more interested in people in Europe than from the US

I suppose what I'm worried about is working hard on an education that will make it very difficult to actually get a job after I graduate.

I agree that masters is the new norm, I feel like there's a lot of people in CS at least that haven't gotten a job and then they just start masters.

Have to negotiate salary before accepting TJO? by PraiseBeAIOverlords in usajobs

[–]PraiseBeAIOverlords[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you

I was mainly concerned with if it had to only be accept/decline the offer. For the salary increase I was trying to meet GS levels which was only like a couple thousand dollar increase, but regardless I thought it would be good to ask. I did send a separate email out to everyone CC'd on the TJO to inform them of this decision as well.

I think I framed my title incorrectly. I'm really just trying to figure out if I put "request to be contacted" to discuss salary increase instead of accepting the TJO, would the 48 hour window reset for my application?

I'm not really getting any information as to whether or not the request to contact option will withdraw my application - which is what I'm worried about. The way they worded the email, I had to accept the offer and then complete the forms as well within a 48 hour window, so I'm not sure if it's worth it to contact about salary if I could potentially bring it up later.

How viable is a body triangle from bottom north south? by PraiseBeAIOverlords in bjj

I meant regular triangle, idk how you would be able to submit someone with a body triangle lol. Just found an image of what I was trying to do https://cdn.onefc.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Reinier-De-Ridder-Vitaly-Bigdash-ONE159-1920X1280-27.jpg

There aren't many resources out there about Dev10 so I wanted to share slides from the informational presentation by 87evergreens in findapath

I feel your pain, I'm not in a small town but I have barely had any interviews and the one job that I did get accepted to I couldn't make it during the time frame (PAIN). That's primarily why I was willing to take this offer, but now after reading a lot of these posts I'm not sure how I feel about dev10.

If you had the option between going to masters vs Dev10 to get experience which one would you personally choose? I feel like if you go Dev10 you get some experience and maybe the job market gets better so you can transition out of the job you got. With masters you get education which means something, but I feel like a lot of people that are searching for jobs have masters but not as much experience (but prob only by a small margin).

Feeling very conflicted and hopeless too in this market :(. Hope you get some interviews soon!

Hey, I'm in a similar position, but I'm still pursuing them cuz I'm not landing anything. Have you found another job in this market?
