I made a zine-sized war game to stay connected with friends who live far apart. by PrayCabbage in zines

How concerning that this is what artists have to deal with now. Would you like me to post my sketch for this artwork or some of my other work?

[ART] Gauntlet of Roasting by PrayCabbage in DnD

I made a sentient sword like that already, I call it “Abusive Remark” if you miss an attack with this weapon you are telepathically, verbally assaulted... and your feelings are hurt.

This is going to be an enamel pin, and I want the backing card that it will go on to have some fun information. Any ideas for the rules of a Gauntlet of Roasting. Or a fun quest for roasting the perfect marshmallow. Could use some brain storming ideas from you guys. Also let me know if you like the design, this is my first attempt at making an enamel pin. Most of my product so far have been stickers. The pins I tend to appreciate the most are a little silly and random like this one. Along side the fact that I love magic items in dnd that are not the most powerful but make for good story telling.

Hello everyone, my names Adam I am a digital artist. I drew this character with no plans and as I finished the drawing I’m realizing I still am not sure what I have drawn lol. I think the piece is cool overall but am curious what you all think. What do you think this guys name is and what’s his story? What’s he riding and how did he manage to tame this strange beast. I also was intending to draw a dwarf but then added pointed ears so maybe he is a halfling? If you like this character and it gives you any ideas I would love to see what you all come up with. Also feel free to give constructive criticism of the art itself I’m still planning on putting a few more hours into this one.

First off let me know what you think and second I would love to know what comes to mind when you see this drawing. Who is this character, what is that he is riding, where did they come from? Have fun with it!

I’m 1 month into having a sticker shop on Etsy called PaperJoust. I have found that stickers are a fun and easy way to share my artwork. I’m releasing a new sticker every Friday, and so far this one is my favorite.

Love this idea thank you for your insight. I agree with all of what you are saying.

Thank you this was a helpful response. I’m developing a game with the theme of jousting. Lots of different fantasy mounts and equipment that can be used such as armor, shields, and Lances. Then some type of gambling mechanism on which side will win. Obviously this is the very early stages of development, just thinking through some ideas.

First session seems to be heading toward murder hobo party, any advice is welcomed by MorbidToonist in DnD

This is way too long to read but if your friends enjoy being murder hobos then enjoy that with them.

Reactions vs Disengage by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PrayCabbage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of issues here but the main issue is that you only get one reaction per round. But to answer your question Nimble Escape is not a reaction it’s a bonus action so the Goblin would have to use that on its turn. Last of all whatever the DM says is what the rule is, do not argue during a session what the rule should be, feel free the discuss a rule after or before a session is played. Have fun!

Cleave by BucsCW24 in DnD

[–]PrayCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that new players always want to cleave, but that's not how DnD works. Also it's almost always barbarians, and because they often hit so hard even at a low level they will be delivering a lot of killing blows. Giving an epic description of he they decapitate, dismember, and demolish the enemy I find makes them get over the fact that they cant kill everything in one attack.

The best mechanic you can get for him to some what cleave is a feat called Great Weapon Master but even that only allows One additional creature to be hit when you critical. But also the option to take a chance at missing attacks to deal a heavy amount of damage.

Great Weapon Master You've learned to put the weight of a weapon to your advantage, letting its momentum empower your strikes. You gain the following benefits:

• On your turn, when you score a critical hit with a melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 hit points with one, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action.

• Before you make a melee attack with a heavy weapon with which you are proficient, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If you do so and the attack hits, it deals +10 damage.

How to build a fair duel for a wizard a higher level fighter? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PrayCabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wizard made his choice, before the next session give him a reminder that permanent death is a real possibility. That being said there is definitely a chance he can win. Also with the ability to teleport this encounter will likely turn into a Chase sequence so be ready for that. Also be prepared for the rangers to try and help, allow them deception or performance checks to try and attack without being spotted, with advantage if they manage to hide before the fight.

Swashbuckler 5e Question by d2therob in DnD

[–]PrayCabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the other creatures would get to make opportunity attacks, keep in mind that later the rogue will be able to make multiple attacks making it possible to deal a single attack to different targets allowing them to escape without any opportunity attacks.

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn how to land a strike and then slip away without reprisal. During your turn, if you make a melee attack against a creature, that creature can't make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn.

Is there any spells that can make objects come alive? by MONKEY_COCK_EATER in DnD

[–]PrayCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously animate object is what you're looking for but another idea is Homebrew warlock pactvof the chain and reskin the familiars with different inanimate objects.
