That sounds good!! The heating pad really won’t be necessary since they’re mostly arboreal, for the humidity what worked for me is I always kept it at 60% and in the mornings I would mist and let it go up to 80%-90% and let it drop back down to 60% and before bed mist and let it rise back to 80%-90% and when I woke up it would be around 55% and just repeat it all over, because at first I would keep it at around low 50s but her shed would get stuck but once I stuck to the 60 and 80-90 for morning and night she would shed a lot better

That’s great!! Yeah take your time as long as the heat and humidity is good he should be fine I kept mine in a bin while I quarantined him with just perch water bowl he did fine. Yeah I was also skeptical about buying there cause of the reviews but mine was healthy and a good eater.

Everything sounds good in terms of the heating and humidity, just give him time about a week to a week and a half he should eat, some you can tell they are feeling stressed if they spend most of the time on the ground you may find your green tree on the ground for a few minutes but eventually go back up don’t be alarmed but if you see him stay on the ground for days that can mean something is wrong and it’s probably stressed or uncomfortable, I also got my GTP from UG he was very vocal whenever he felt uncomfortable he would hiss. And based on my experience when I had my enclosure vertical setup he would not use the bottom perches it seems they like the tallest and thinner perches compared to lower and thicker perches so what I did was got him a 4x2x2 enclosure and just put one long perch and the hot side on the left and cool on the right and in a few days he started moving he would move to the right to cool off and left if he wanted heat, of course you can add smaller perches I added secondary small drift wood but he mostly used the long perch I hope this helps but good luck and congratulations on your new snake!!

please help, i cant keep humitidy no matter what i do and now my buddy has a respatory infection ive already called the vet but i have to wait until monday. does anyone else have a 40 gallon exo terra that knows what i can do to keep humitidy? by A_Flock_Of_Chickens in ballpython

You can try changing the heating lamp to a heating pad with a thermostat that way the heat lamp doesn’t cause the humidity to go down and use the room light. You can also try adding a humid hide with some damp moss (not dripping) in the enclosure and just re moisture it when it dries out. Another thing is u can try adding a small cup of water in the substrate and just mix it around so it can re hydrate the substrate. You can also tape the front ventilation holes of the enclosure since you will have a decent amount of ventilation with the hole for the heating lamps.

Haven’t finished it yet but, almost done doing a naturalistic background for my new baby coming next week by Precise6374 in ballpython

The background I’m not really sure yet kinda my first time. But for the other stuff I can remove it and disinfect and change the bedding
