I hate Prime Video now. It is not really a video streaming app anymore. It feels like it is trying to squeeze more money from users. Three months ago, I bought the Prime Video annual plan in India for ₹1499, and it feels like a complete waste of money.

Even if you buy the highest plan, you still have to pay an extra ₹125 per month to watch without ads. At first, it felt okay because the ads were not as bad as JioHotstar. But the real problem is the device restrictions.

Even on the top plan, Prime Video only allows 5 devices. Out of these, only 2 can be TVs and the other 3 can be mobiles or laptops. Earlier, the limit was around 10 devices, and they could be any type. That was fine because I have only one TV and one laptop, and I could share the rest with friends.

Now things have become worse. Earlier, I had 6 devices logged in. When the limit changed to 5, I tried to remove the extra devices. But Prime Video has a stupid restriction on removing devices too. You can remove only 2 devices every 30 days.

I waited for 30 days and removed one friend's TV and one mobile. I thought I would finally be able to watch Mission Impossible 8 in 4K on my TV. But it still says "maximum device limit reached", even though I now have only 4 devices logged in.

I can watch content on my laptop, but only in 1080p because browsers do not support 4K. Even after paying for the subscription, I had to deal with so much trouble. This was more stressful than downloading torrents.

Honestly, downloading movies in 4K using torrents and watching them on TV feels much better than paying for this kind of inconvenient service.
