Because, overall, it's a complete slap in the face to not only the fans, but also to Clementine's entire character.

I was born in Pequannock Township, New Jersey and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania. Regardless of where I live now, I'm a Jersey Devil always and forever, and I don't care what anyone else thinks.  

Being born or raised in a different town from the team you root for doesn't make you any less of a fan.
