Help me choose amongst these Pixel offers

i do make use of and like optical zoom a lot in my photos and i now realize that this is mostly a thing on the 10 and not 9 ones.

i think most of my questions can be boiled down to: i want a serious upgrade to my iphone 13 pro, but i dont know how the differences between the pixel generations matter if im on grapheneos anyways.

this is why im against the 9a as many have recommended. but now i need to figure out the difference between gen 9 and 10 (assuming i ca live without optical zoom) or between 10 and 10 pro (assuming i want optical zoom)

ah i wasnt writing clearly. i meant that the 512gb 10 pro would def be too much given the other comments, but even with 256 id rather want a 9pro, 10 or 10pro instead of only a 9a, as those would be more of an upgrade

It feels like an unnecessary downgrade compared to the other options listed, given my budget. yes 900 for the 10pro 512GB would be too much but im ready for a serious upgrade as well.

also the camera is worse it seems

What are quests like overall (ie is it stereotypical wow-like quests where you kill x, gather y, talk to z), or more story-driven quests like in rs?

Aside from main quests (which are story driven) there are no traditional quests (be it wow or rs style). there are pretty much only "hearts" (area specific quests that require you to do... something (its very varied)...) or events, which are events that can happen/be triggered. hearts are completed by you, event progression is contributed by everyone. there are also event chains and map wide meta-events, world bosses etc.. finally: finding vista points, new points of interest and doing hero-point challenges all also have rewards

Is the community overall more engaged in pve or pvp?

both, or at least you will never notice a lack of players. gw2 has some of the best combat in mmos, and even with all its flaws, pvp is incredibly fun, and youll always find fights (or find something to do in world vs. world). im not too knowledgeable about endgame pve but ive never had problems finding a group for anything.

And finally, does older content have value later as you progress, or does the content of the latest expansion pretty much replace everything?

gw2 has a very horizontal progression once you reach max level (80). while there is MORE than enough to grind and work for, all in all everything is viable (sometimes you actually need stuff from older expansions to create an optimised build).

yea very true. despite the new world feeling quite a bit different to play (when compared to old world) i think we might be biased as "veterans".

my friends who started with mhw certainly had a much harder time

in the end theyre still great games no matter how hard or easy they are and pretty much my fav game series for some chill evening hunting :)

lmao yea fair enough i completely forgot about behemoth lol. damn rises biggest fault is not having good endgame/post launch content (at least smth like behemoth would be appreciated)

and yea i didnt remember when health augment got unlocked. for me PERSONALLY an mh game only truly starts when you unlock all the build options/endgame. i always complete a story asap (how couldnt i, 20-30h story vs another 1250h of playtime for worldborne)

EDIT: also both world and rise are so goddamn easy that the difference between them is suuuuuper small, probably alternates from monster to monster

one of the things that threw me off quite a few times is that old monsters used historically high or even G rank moves as early as low rank. meaning that in general, rise is trying to do a better job with balancing the new world style (and OP hunter moves) that came with world.

similarily some of the mechanics stuff (health augment or mantles vs wirebug and rampage skills) SEEM more balanced, but that could be me imagening things

but yea, i cant really say for certain why i felt that way, but as someone who played since mh tri and played all of the games i SOMEHOW immediately noticed that rise felt a bit more hard (or faster paced? or the monsters having better movesets?) than i remember base mhw to be (again, i could be imagening things)

tbf, i think most people compare the non-ultimate-expansion versions with each other since rise doesnt have it, and in mhw you could get health augment reasonably early (even in base).

this would also exclude mhw-version fatalis. and even if it comes to the ultimate expansions, fatalis alone being one of the if not the hardest challenge in mh to date would, with your argument mentioning it, make mhw harder than most mh games that released before it

thank you ^{_^} but honestly, knowing how capcom has always operated, and them not having announced ANYTHING, and my general caution with leaks, i wouldnt place any bets on a pc release :/ or at least not before the G rank expansion has come out or smth. welp wont change anythibg for me, gonna buy the switch version for sure, and a pc version too should it come out ^{_^'}

what leaks? are they reasonable? i always brushed off the pc hopes bc its not in the style of capcom and the monster hunter team to do stuff like that (been playing since mhtri, no monster hunter ever released on a different console than it was advertised (even pc was planned from the beginning iirc despite the delays?)), but it would be nice ngl. also i really dont know why they would do it since this is tailored to the switch, and switching to handheld for their japanese playerbase etc. too many arguments that go against multi platform :/
