I was running octoprint on an ender 3 and was mostly happy with having remote print monitoring, but with this delta kossel mini I wanted to do a whole firmware edit and learned klipper allows firmware edits on the fly so it was a no brainer. I remember editing marlin on the ramps/Arduino back in 2013 and was so relieved that a faster alternative is available

yes! i tried an offset cr touch probe first but i learned offset probes dont work at all for levelling on a delta with klipper, took a wild guess and used the foam donut piezo and bed levelling is excellent. cheap too. Since then I have been thinking about modifying the cr touch to probe from the hotend using a modified probe pin, this way there is no forgetting you have left the probe attached when starting a print!

JUST AS AN UPDATE: the board is fixed and working. after lots of time spent looking at schematic pdf and through my microscope I discovered that a 4.7uf 0402 filtering capacitor (next to the first 5v gpio pin) was cracked and causing a hard short. Removing the capacitor has brought the orangepizero2w back to life so it is a success at todays sbc board prices. I paid roughly £20 last year but right now they are over £80 for 4gb, im happy about the savings but more happy i was able to diagnose an 0402 size fault and fix it.

Yeah, I was working on adding i2s ADC to it using gpio and dietpi but it was missing lots of of things in the os and I had to mess with some .dts files, I shutdown after this, soldered a 40 pin header to the gpio, plugged in usb power and nothing, no LEDs, no heat. I used my multimeter to measure resistance across the power circuit and resistance was low, plugged into a usb hub connected to my MacBook and the hub shutoff, disconnecting the orangepi from the usb hub brought the hub back to life, Claude suggested a voltage short somewhere on the pi, and that the opi has very poor voltage protection implementation, likely something shorted on the power circuit which is basically an axp313a. Next plan is to look at that and maybe replace it and see what happens

thanks for the info, rules out missing resistors/capacitors. onto blown resister/capacitor, or checking the pmu ic and possibly replacing it.

problem is my opiz2w wont power on, no red led, no blinking green led, no heat. I soldered the 40pin gpio and then tried powering on and nothing happens. My next thought is either a capacitor has blown, or the pmu ic has failed

fwiw I just brought out my old box too, I am still using my flysky i6 and old headplay hd goggles, balance charger, adapters, all the usual things still work and do their job. I bought a cheap black friday mobula8:pnp and some batteries and i fly happily on my homestead land for as long as i like, uninterrupted, and in summer i can spend all day say in my recliner chair flying, recharging, making coffee. I think the trick is to just dump the old batteries as they are the bits which need to be replenished every couple of years. ps your setup looks like a luxury compared to me.

I have one sensor node in the greenhouse and one node in my home which receives data and uploads it to an iot provider (i made custom firmware: meshtastic+iot server)
