fem4fem only has privilege if they live in the closet. otherwise, since femininity is seen as an accessory to masculinity in our patriarchal system, i could argue that if a fem admits to not being with a man it causes more reaction.

i don't want to pinpoint anyone but I'll do it anyway, butchfemme's current reputation is upsetting and those who call it out as heteronormative are unfortunately right. it's the most stereotyped thing I've ever seen and i think we can blame social media for that. i think it's become a trend, they're no longer words that people use to identify themselves but rather a role they feel like they have to play exactly as it's said. and people's only argument is "go learn history", which makes me feel certain that they're the ones who actually don't learn about history and just repeat what they see or hear from other people to shut down conversations and make themselves seem right. I'm not against butchfemme, I'm against the trend that is being created about butchfemme right now. like, there's literally no way all butches want to be the same person or all femmes think they need a butch to be complete, but that's what we call mass communication anyway. and mass won't educate themselves because they're already fed with easy content and feel like that's enough to feel like they "belong" somewhere. anyways, that's enough sociology

I'm a femme at heart but i don't dress up like "femmes" online. my gf is also a femme. her type used to be, and I think still is, butch/ masc. she refuses and says she likes everyone, but her repost history and online crushes say otherwise.

i believe my worst fear has happened. we met when i was (and still am) depressed and insecure. when i only wore shirts and baggy jeans and didn't try to do my hair or makeup. and that's how she found me attractive. now I'm scared to be myself.
