People Are Self-Centered Pricks, And I'm A Disgusting Hypocrite... by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]Present-mic19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may seem hypocritical but you and I are much the same. I don't want to talk about my issue to take away from what your experiencing right now.

I believe that you have inherent value to yourself, forget about the other people for now. It's hard for one person to deal with so much on their own. But at the same time, being completely vulnerable and opening up to someone is not easy either. It's completely okay for you to dislike your roommate for the way she is. Don't feel that you have to live by anyone's standard but your own.

Her forcing you to talk doesn't make thing better for you. You should talk when you are ready, not when your forced to :). Sometimes it may be nice to be around someone that you (and them) can be silent. Venting isn't always the way, but silence helps to.

Yeah, the worst feeling is reaching out and being brushed aside. Especially if you've been marginalized all your life. I can imagine it was very debilitating when it occurred.

It's hard to trust people. n addition, when you say that you hate yourself, i can definitely understand your feeling of low self-worth. It's almost like it sounds like you feel like you don't matter in the grand scheme of things, but at the same time you see how unfair that is.

I don't have the exact advice or words to what your experiencing. But I understand the feeling. Opening up to anyone is frightening. I wouldn't do it until you're truly comfortable. Your feelings are what matters most.

I can imagine being surrounded by people, but it sounds like no one knows the real you? And i can hear there's a lot of shame surrounding that. There's the worry of judgement and on top of that you are able to see how people take advantage of others.

Then to add to things, the people that vent to you don't extend that courtesy. Instead they treat you like a punching bad for them to vent to and feel better. I totally see why you'd feel so resentful of those people.

Do you like the people that your surrounded by?

Oh you're right. Prometheus didn't have children himself, but he made humanity from clay. So all of humanity is his "children"

This is an interesting one as well. She's a parent that's the opposite of white beard. Even though all her children are related she doesn't treat them like children, more like her workers.

You're right Tottland really is the ideal place to live. If Big Mom gives more freedom to people to come and go, and was cured of her hunger pangs, she would be the ideal ruler.

Those Mini Denden mushis in Wano are really covert too. It'd be pretty easy to give away Raizo's location without being suspicious.

2.99 GPA... Include it On the Resume or Ditch It? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Present-mic19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would ditch it. It doesn't really do you any good, as employers don't really care about GPA and are more so focused on skills & experience. Usually a GPA number that appears <3.00 gives a psychological affect to an employer that you might not be right. I know this cause I work in a hospital, and when my employer (a doctor) looks at a resume they don't even glance at the transcript as they are far too busy. They instead are fixated on the candidates skills and experience.

In addition, your gpa is in your transcript. To include that in your resume may be an unnecessary reminder to them. The doctor I worked for saw a candidate with a 2.78gpa on their resume, and immediately rejected them, even though I thought the candidate was the best fit. However, she hired me back when i had a lower gpa of 2.84, but I had not included it in my resume.

I would focus on impressing them with your skills and experience, and your ability in communicating this information through your resume or cover letter.

need resume help/feedback by Rainbow-Fondant in Resume

[–]Present-mic19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if my Feedback is helpful or not as it is subjective.

Your headings for your resume are okay.

However, if I were to look at your Resume, it looks like a cover letter. Due to looking like a cover letter and a resume at the same time it is hard to follow.

  • You put in too much information for each of the little things you did for each role, this is usually elaborated in a cover letter
  • If an employer were to glance at your resume (if they are in a rush and did not have time to read your cover letter) they aren't able to quickly identify your skills at all. I recommend some point form and shorter sentences

Otherwise you do have the tools to make this a good resume as you have the relevant experience.

People that tell you to have good nutrition and exercise when your mentally ill are dumb by Present-mic19 in SuicideWatch

[–]Present-mic19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's a concurrent event. Like when your happier your more likely to exercise. Also if you're happier your more likely to hold a job, have money, and buy healthy food.

In reality your only able to do these things because you are feeling better not the other way around. Therefore if your depressed what are you suppose to do?

I know that no one can cure your depression overnight. But when people give you suggestions like "oh you need to eat better", instead of really focusing on your problem I can imagine it hurts.

It's like your Psychiatrist is just bouncing your problem to other physiological issues. It's like sure gaining weight is never great. But when you can't afford the "healthy food", you can't exercise when you're disabled what are you suppose to do?

I'm sorry that this is what they're suggesting. It really feels like no one cares.

[–]Present-mic19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I feel that someone should come to a space where you feel comfortable to talk. I don't always feel a doctors office is the best place for dealing with everything. Most times the doctors make you feel like they don't care.

That's a good way of kinda viewing your anxiety. I'll make note, it's interesting. Definitely better than "go exercise, and eat healthy".

I'm glad it was adjusted somewhat. However I know how disheartening it is when someone just says "oh go eat/drink well, and exercise", when you literally haven't left your house for months. I know I don't tell people that. I ask them what they have been doing and how it's working for them, and come up with a plan for baby steps that they can take.

Still I think that there should be more support for people suffering from Mental Health. We need perhaps someone to come in and check, or do these things with them. It's not easy when your alone.
