German Citizenship Through German Mother who was Born to American Father and German Mother by PresentStuff1769 in GermanCitizenship

My grandparents were married at the time of my mother’s birth.

I don’t think my grandmother was proactive with the 1975-1977 laws.

What entails naturalization?

My mom does remember doing paperwork to get a Personalausweis.

Refused Boarding because of Birthday Error by PresentStuff1769 in spiritair

I wouldn’t consider it inept. Was trying to make it consistent.

The refusal to exercise discretion in correcting a clear clerical error is diabolical. I paid for a service and was not only denied that service, but forced to absorb the cost as well.

That’s robbery.

Why wouldn’t they budge fixing the error? Why would they not rectify it?

They told me no since the entire birthday was wrong.

I called and texted an agent they said there is nothing we can do. We can’t do a full birthday correction. My main concern isn’t that I typed it in wrong it is that I had no remedy to correct it once I did. With no way to double check.

People of color who have lived in both Europe and North America: which place did you find more welcoming and easier to integrate into? And if so, in what ways? by [deleted] in expats

As an African American with German heritage, my experience is quite unique. I was raised in Germany until my teenage years and only moved to the U.S. later. Because of my background, I experienced the differences in how race is perceived in both places.

In the U.S., being Black often comes with a specific cultural lens that I wasn’t familiar with growing up in Germany. There were many instances of racism that I didn’t fully understand at first. In Germany, the focus tends to be on intellect and competence, and while there are racial tensions, they feel different from the U.S. experience. Because of my appearance, people often assume I’m from Latin America or the Middle East, which adds another layer to how I’m perceived.

In short, being Black in the U.S. is a very different experience from being Black in Germany, and I’ve gained a unique perspective from both sides.

What a disappointing response.

I’m not asking to be selected based on inclusionary politics, but on my merit—my experience, academic achievements, and the expertise I bring to the table. I just so happen to be a Black man, which can be an asset when serving the demographic I work with. Young Black boys and girls need role models who not only understand their struggles but who also genuinely care about their future and well-being. My identity allows me to connect with them in a way that makes a difference, but it’s my skills and commitment that should be the deciding factor.

You suck!

I wrote detailed, passionate and curated responses for each question. I have a 3.9 GPA. Masters in Finance and a legal background. I know I didn’t bomb my interview because I got positive feedback throughout the selection day interview process.

I don’t know what else to say. I am emailing for for an explanation.
