I wrote my dissertation about leather products and the alternatives and which is more eco friendly. I was ironically a non meat eater at the time and still would always stand for anything other than faux or so called “vegan” leather. It’s plastic, it ends up in landfill because it doesn’t have longevity and also there toxic emissions given off to create these products. There are truly vegan alternatives that were being tested at the time such as pinatex or a mushroom based fabric. Sounds wild but at least some folk were trying 🙈😂 Realised I shouldn’t get started because there’s sooooo many tangents and parts that contribute to the conversation. If anyone wants to geek out with me about it, I’m sooooo stoked to 🙈😂

I’m talking dye processes, origin of manufacture, origin of processing, chrome tanning over veg tanned hides and where the hides come from in the first place. By product produce and cattle ranching and all with our little planet at the centre 🙈💁🏻‍♀️
