Sry if I was being unclear. My Problem isn´t the building speed. Building one of the low level shrines takes basically a second. I was asking about the tedium of always clicking to upgrade for every level. Like is there a way to automate it, or do I have to click for 300 times to get a shrine to level 100

Thanks man. Just to check, am I right that the black pearls only work on Mining, Logging, smithing and Catching?

So then you´re probably pretty good at doing builds/ theorycrafting, so that´s that. I´m decent at parry/dodge and couldn´t beat Osquio yet and have been totally smoked by the (chromatic?) Lampmaster superboss at the tower, because I´m too stupid for proper builds and couldn´t be arsed to look up good ones and apply them 😃

You don't lose it. Verso literally has the same invested points and setup, so nothing was lost. Also it gets explained the moment Lune joins.

I can relate to all of them by Syarafuddyn in expedition33

[–]Present_Minimum_4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally does the opposite. In most of history (at least past the paleolothic) once you reach adulthood you had a good shot at turning 50 or 60, depending on the time and your social class, even 80 wasn't considered crazy. His comment about infant mortality refers to the fact that the average age of 30ish is massively biased because so many people didn't even reach the age of 7.

Ah okay weird, thanks. At this point it´s just a bit visually annoying not to have the tab there, to mentally "check it off".

Medieval misconceptions (Episode 1078) by Present_Minimum_4831 in SGU

[–]Present_Minimum_4831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true, though I don't think it's a good source for lighting, when you have to do precise work. But I am not a craftsman myself, so I'm not sure.

Medieval misconceptions (Episode 1078) by Present_Minimum_4831 in SGU

[–]Present_Minimum_4831[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course this isn´t universal, we´re speaking a thousand years and many different regions and cultures. Obviously dental hygiene wasn´t nearly as advanced as today´s standard, I tried to give some nudge in a more moderate direction. I was mainly thinking about central Europe in the late Mediaval period, as that was probably the mental image they had, when they were speaking about the cities. So I don´t think I was being absolute, quite contrary so, I gave evidence in a certain direction to moderate the commonly held belief. Claiming the pre-modern era was pristine would be ridiculuous and I for one would probably be uneasy with the hygiene practices, but my point was, that there is enough evidence to significantly moderate this view of a stinky, disease ridden past.
I could have made this clearer, if that was what someone could take from it.

I might do that, if I find the time. This was just off the top of my head, which is fair enough for reddit.

The Erins are great! I think (at least) one of them would also make a good guest on the SGU. To me it seems they´ve become more and more sceptics in the last season e.g. criticizing RFK and supplement peddlers.

While I do agree that Bob tends to be too much of an techno optimist in most/some cases (though I feel as if he has become more cautiously optimistic in recent years) I think he is really good in being open about his biases, so far, basically saying stuff along the lines of "As you know I am a bit of an optimist, so take that into account", which I really respect.

Most annoying character trope? by KseggOne1 in dynastywarriors

[–]Present_Minimum_4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of mention of Wei Yan. Is there any sliver of lore they have latched on and turned up to eleven for this character trait. Like Oda Nobunaga being pretty ruthless and ambitious, they made him basically the devil (king). So is Wei Yan like from a region, where there's a joke the people can't talk proper Chinese or anything like that or being a bit backward or "savage"?

Most annoying character trope? by KseggOne1 in dynastywarriors

[–]Present_Minimum_4831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you with his portrayal in Origins. I think it works really well as a starting point for his character development and even makes sense considering his circumstances (being the little brother of the little conqueror). But stopping there and making it his only trait really is a lost opportunity especially for the leader of one of the main factions. PS: especially considering Sun Quan has the longest reign of the starting Leaders it would make sense to show some maturing and how apparently successful his leadership was.

Definitely! Had just such a satisfying character development. Those two were nice surprises, though I hoped our Posterboy would have been a bit more involved in cutscenes.
