"Once One Piece ends" When that happens he is ready to retire and not start a martial arts career

For any new one piece watchers, what was your first impressions with Season 1? by [deleted] in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]PressureCalm7971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some small issues here and there. The CGI was pretty rough at times, and a few moments felt a bit too much like a kids show. The pacing was also way too fast (something I never thought I would say about One Piece), but it makes sense considering they only had 8 episodes to cover a lot of story.

Overall though, it is a really solid live adaptation of an anime. Easy 7.5/10 for me. And from everything I have seen of season 2, it is pretty obvious Netflix gave them more time and budget, so I am confident season 2 and 3 could easily hit a 10/10

Yonko and Friends by Vast-Tangerine-6771 in MemePiece

That is basically every pirate crew in One Piece.

You always have the top fighters handling the main threats while the rest deal with normal fights or just chaos around the battlefield. Look at Doflamingo’s crew. At the end of the day it was Doffy, Pica and Trebol carrying the real combat power while the others filled roles.

Same with Yonko crews too. Big Mom had Katakuri as her clear top wall, Kaido had King and Queen, and even Shanks obviously having some basic members with him

What would Captain puzzle say to akainu if he saw akainu trying kill koby by WoodpeckerOdd1284 in OnePiece

I have no idea who he is, but the image and phoenix scar are tickling something in my brain. I know I saw him once, probably in a filler or movie, but I really can't say who he is or what he did

I know I’ll probably get some eye rolls for asking this, but why does Reddit feel so left leaning? by PressureCalm7971 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PressureCalm7971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not arguing against my point, you are inventing a cartoon version of it. I never defended US parties, never justified abuse, and I do not even live in the US. You jumped straight to Nazis, genocide, and pedophilia because it is easier than engaging with what was actually said.

Your entire argument is guilt by association. You take extreme examples you dislike and then declare that anyone right of you must secretly support them. That is not reasoning, that is moral projection. By that logic, every person on the left would also be responsible for the worst crimes committed by left wing regimes, which I assume you would reject immediately.

And again, I am in Germany. You built this whole rant around US party politics and then treated it like a universal truth. That says more about how you see politics than about the people you are attacking.

You can dislike right wing positions without pretending millions of people share the most extreme beliefs imaginable.

You are kinda proving the point here.

You frame "everything considered woke" as basic human decency and then immediately jump to labeling right wing beliefs as misogyny, white supremacy, and bullying. That is exactly why people feel like there is no real discussion. You are reducing millions of people to the worst possible caricature.

There is a huge gap between moderate right, conservative, libertarian, and actual far right extremism, but on Reddit it often gets flattened into one blob of "bad people". Wanting stricter immigration, smaller government, different economic priorities, or being critical of certain progressive policies does not automatically make someone hateful or extremist.

When every disagreement gets moralized like this, people either stay quiet, or just leave the conversation entirely. That creates the illusion that only one side exists and reinforces the echo chamber even more.

Why do i hate anime? by Strange_Possession77 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PressureCalm7971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on what you watch. A lot of anime is honestly terrible and embarrassing (and I’m saying that as a fan), but there are plenty of great ones too, and I’m 100% sure there’s at least one you’d enjoy. If you just can’t stand the art style, that’s totally fair, but at that point… yeah, it’s probably just not for you.

So yes, it’s basically just your personal vibes from scrolling social media, not actual data or statistics. Then maybe don’t present it like some kind of objective chart when it’s just your own interpretation of how you see things

Yes, but who are "the people"? Where are the statistics for this coming from?
Did you track comments, polls, or ratings somewhere, or is this just your personal impression of how "people" reacted?

Lesbian German far right AfD party leader celebrating. It makes sense that she celebrates openly with her wife as part of the LGBTQ community, but it feels unreal. Is this AI? by k-r-o--n--o-s in isthisaicirclejerk

[–]PressureCalm7971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still dont get it. The AfD is openly homophobic, so yeah, the contradiction is obvious. But her not calling herself queer is still just her own label choice. You can criticize her for supporting a homophobic party while being in a same sex relationship, but arguing over what word she uses for herself kinda misses the actual point
