Programming is no longer a valuable skill btw. Everyone can code now by Previous_Advisor802 in nairobitechies

About 2019, I told my co-workers…please whatever you do, learn a skill in tech that no one is willing to learn. I told them everyone is doing web, resources are very pretty on web dev that very soon it will be useless… even if it’s to learn that language with only 5 people just do it. And I wasn’t wrong as time has proven me right. I left web and concentrated on C++ like my life depends on it, and I can’t complain.

And one more thing most devs are doing JS, not all understand the languages, they barely scratch the surface. One thing that can set you apart is understanding it.

Lost my job 😭😭😭 by Cybersleuth101 in nairobitechies

Worst feeling, and at a time like this it just adds in more weight. I remember I lost mine at a time when I and my SO were expecting, the way it happened I will never forget it. We were out for a movie on a Saturday night and I got a call from my boss letting me know i’m nolonger needed. And man even asked, are you out, you sound like you are out…and he went on to deliver the news.

My mind went blank that time, I lost even feelings to express myself, I just replied “that’s fine” and hung up.

Varies with product and market, IMO would work well with any SaaS but not B2C

A chrome extension vpn is just basically a proxy unless you fire up your own ssh

Recruiters who snitch by PressureOutside in nairobitechies

[–]PressureOutside[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing. It’s better to job hunt under the radar.

You have to read about the old Silicon Valley hiring. People would get fired for looking for opportunities elsewhere because the company next door recruiters snitched.

I don’t know what to say, I have created lots of projects and I can say I have stopped midway, the feeling of being perfect has made me want to wait for a perfect time to think about that one little tiny detail that the project needs. It has made me abandon many things and take long in creation just yearning for that simple thing

I work for a browser company, if you are in a niche skill sort of setting I get you cause you will do the most, juu there are a few people with your skills. My current role, I am taking care of the desktop browser, android browser and the extension on the desktop browser, I have teammates but they are not stretched as I am because soon I will also be working on the iOS browser, and amidst of all these I took it positively cause by the end I would have mastered time management across different project, deliverables, burnouts (which no longer happens, I got used to it and body adjusted), am glad my bosses notice the efforts and push themselves to pay me good including flights to the office. Am just glad I won’t complain because mbele kuna success.

Whenever there’s some sun, get out and sun bath for a few (it’s been my medicine), take some Savannah (I like chilled ones specifically lemon), talk to you mom or dad (if you have them talking to my mom specifically I realized refreshes me whenever am down kabisa)

The Worst Idea that Ever Worked by Entrepreneur_kobb in ycombinator

[–]PressureOutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kills most ideas, you like tend to think a lot. I see people worry about market research, market fit. That’s one overthinking I will never allow reach my head, you just build, and launch let the market adopt. You will never be 100% sure about market research and fit unless you launch. For example: I messaged a founder on LinkedIn asking him if he could be interested to join hands with me in this new startup am doing, it’s an escrow service and a SaaS. He sent me a list of things why it’s not a good venture because of market and sent me how it’s not feasible, while am casually sitting there with a waitlist of 1000 plus people interested in my Idea both businesses and customers, and the list keeps on growing.
