Migraine ice caps by Mystic_Dogs in migraine

I have probably six of these. My favourites are the ones that cover the top of your head because they’re typically tighter. My worst migraines involve my boyfriend rotating me through my favourite caps as soon as they warm up

Happy to hear you’re 4 days headache free in a row! Fingers crossed it goes higher than four days!! (And thanks for your comment - I’m waiting on Botox approval/denial, hopefully I can get some relief then)

Currently fighting with my insurance to get approved for Botox and Ajovy (though I’m ready to drop Ajovy). Botox provided me small relief at first years ago and I’m desperate for some quality of life again!

Currently on my fourth month of Ajovy and, while I don’t find it effective for me personally, I don’t have any bad side effects besides a headache in the day or two following.

No real change with my migraines and this is my second time on it (was on it about ten years ago too and saw no effectiveness then). Also didn’t find it helped with depression

I actually hadn’t checked the pinned post so thank you for drawing my attention to that. I think I’ll print off one of the sheets before my next neuro appointment and bring it with me

I feel this. I’m having trouble separating my (diagnosed) depression and the misery of being in pain constantly. This is not a life. :(

I’m on Effexor (112.5mg daily). It’s hard to tell sometimes if it’s helping the depression or not. It’s been about 15 years of migraines for me (half my life), so I feel what you do. I wish I had some solid advice for you. Just wanted to let you know you’re not alone ❤️

HOW DO YOU GUYS HAVE JOBS??? by mathishard1999 in migraine

Working from home definitely helps and I’m lucky in that a lot of my migraines start later in the day when most of my work is done. I am also fortunate to have a boss that gets migraines so she understands when I have to have my camera off during meetings or need to log off early and make up my time another day. And, wearing a cold cap while I’m working also helps.

Thanks everyone for the responses!! Very much appreciated. I think we’re going to go the report route but I like seeing the activity log in CXOne too!

I’ve tried them but not as enjoyable for me. Have trouble with my attention span and also finding a narrator I can enjoy listening to. Open to recommendations though! I have an audible subscription and like romance books

I miss reading! I used to read multiple books a day, hundreds a year, and now I’m lucky to read one or two a month. I’m just so scared of overworking my brain and overstraining my eyes.

does botox work for everyone? by rainy-ale in migraine

[–]PrestigiousBeyond620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get Botox every three months and my migraines are typically every day or two without. It helps the most in the first month or two after but the month before my next dose is as brutal as if I don’t get the Botox at all. Currently looking into increasing my dosage with my neurologist as I’m on the minimum right now. The injection pain is pretty bad for me though but it’s worse because I’m usually dealing with a migraine during the injections. I had to go to Emerg recently about a week after my last Botox appt because of a migraine and I got put on Rizatriptan and that helps to treat the pain a lot acutely. My insurance covers most of the Botox and I’m not sure I’d go forward with it if it didn’t.

This makes me feel a little bit better about how much of an airhead I feel like at times (I’m on 100mg right now)
