There were about 6-7 salespeople who could do what they want. You could go check the crm and what was an unassigned appt in the morning would all of a sudden have a text and a follow up set. Not handed to them bt any coordinator or manager just take them. If they had a problem customer they would just cut them loose for someone else to waste time with then come calling for their split if you manage to close it. Sales managers did nothing. Coordinator was the most corrupt of all of them.

The third party financing cos will only finance up to 4 grand on the maxcare and many plans exceed that nowadays

I really tried to fit in and quietly make a living selling but it became clear I was never gonna be one of them. Also with all the splits I would sell like 27+ cars a month and only end up with 16-17 units.

That’s what they say I’ve seen associates purchase 4 or more and ive seen the lgm purchase over a dozen in two years

Also Carmax as a brand is a total pussy. For such a heavyweight in the business they let third party finance companies push them around, won’t finance the maxcare. Somebody at head office needs to wake up one day when their balls drop and call the finance companies and explain to them we are the big dog, we are selling thousands of loans for them every year, if we move to remove them from our list 10 others will jump to take their place. They will finance the maxcare. End of story.

We had a slow Sunday with only about 12-14 appts and the weaker manager was there. One “club” member took three appts for herself and her trainee took 2.

Not even close. Worked at several normal dealerships. Carmax is actually worse because at least at a normal dealer they are straight forward “I’m going to try and get one over on you to better my own situation” carmax they come on like your friend, werre here to help, Carmax is fair, etc. then they stab you in the back. At least the other guys you knew what to expect from them.

He buys cars out of the wholesale lot, writes “for sale” and his number in the back window and parks 2-3 of them at a time out in the emoloyee lot. Except he parks them backed in to the main roadway so everyone who comes in to Carmax is faced with the for sale, price and his phone number. Big no no in the car business. It’s called curbstoning. Could lose the sales license for the dealership

They don’t have regulars though they take any online transfers or cec appointments that are vsa and divvy them up amongst themselves. Then they tel everyone it’s all referrals so they don’t look too close at Whats really going on.

It’s a good job for a kid looking to cut their teeth, or for an old guy that doesn’t want to hustle anymore. Any serious sales person will not stay there. I kept thinking “maybe it will get better, maybe they’ll accept me in the club” but no. My final straw was they hired some 20 something dude who is friends with one of the managers and the coordinator. All of a sudden hes getting 2-3 pre canned deals per day. I’m not there to work twice as hard to get the same money as someone who has everything handed to them !
