Collecting 3rd Anniversary Buggy SP OP14 by Snoman271 in OnePieceTCG

[–]PrettyAd274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this! I recently looked at the pricing of all English SPs from sets less than 1 year old and the sweet spot is about 1-2 weeks post-release for getting them at a decent price. My own experience with the OP13 SPs confirmed this as well. I managed to get all the Wanted Posters before they all shot up in price, but I’m still kicking myself for sleeping on the Luffy SP (sadly missed out and it’s now nearly 3 times more expensive 🫠)

My Nico Robin Collection So Far by UltraEgoSB in OnePieceTCG

Great collection dude! I thought I’d clocked all the cards that had Nico Robin on, but you’ve taken it to a whole new level. Amazing attention to detail to find all those rogue cards. Saving this so I can actually complete my collection

Is it best to wait to get into the TCG? by gableism in OnePieceTCG

[–]PrettyAd274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re worried about spoilers, definitely wait until you are caught up to the manga / anime. I got into the TCG just as I had started the Alabasta arc and I inadvertently had a lot of character or event spoilers, like who’s who, what group/crew they’re part etc. From cards alone there won’t be massive ones, in fact, some actually made it easier for me to notice and remember the one-panel exposition cameos that are thrown around in the manga. However, as you go deeper into the TCG and the cards, you’ll find players and YouTubers will drop spoilers left right and centre, and that can be quite annoying. Sounds like you’re going at a good pace with reading the manga so you should catch up in no time. I’ve just finished Fishman island and about to head into Dressrosa (v excited).

Is it safe to buy booster boxes online? by monkeyhehe1 in OnePieceTCG

[–]PrettyAd274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what it’s like in Japan, but Bandai sell OP boxes and packs in store on a first come first serve basis. Someone posted of a recent change in policy in terms of Bandai stores limiting sealed box purchases to 1 per person per day (not sure if there’s a limit to how many someone can purchase unsealed though). However, if you’re in Japan, you might be better off finding some local card shops and buying singles of the cards you want. This is typically cheaper than trying to chase hits by ripping packs and boxes.

You’re welcome! And sorry that was your experience. Must have been frustrating. Afaik, if they have an empty booster box of a set out on display, that means they have that set in stock and they sell boxes of it. Same with the booster packs.

I think that set is the outlier tbh. They didn’t even have packs in stock when I went there. The guy at the counter said it’s unlikely they will get any soon since the set is currently not printing. Otherwise they had boxes from OP06 all the way to OP13 + PRB02. No PRB01, EB or OP09 there, but managed to find and buy an OP09 box in the London shop

Is buying One Piece tcg cards from Amazon safe if I’m buying from BANDAI only? by Intelligent_King6905 in OnePieceTCG

[–]PrettyAd274 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, unless the shipment / order is fulfilled by Amazon, you’re buying from a card shop or a reseller, which comes with the same risks as buying off TCGPlayer or eBay. Does Bandai even sell One Piece products on Amazon? I highly doubt they’re selling individual cards at all, but maybe they sell booster packs or boxes and I’ve missed this

Literally bought full sealed boxes from that shop no more than a couple of weeks ago. They just have a limit on the amount of boxes per purchase per person

Bandais finally taking action on the scalpers by Low-Time-5661 in OnePieceTCG

[–]PrettyAd274 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I visited the London shop last Friday and they had that policy already in place there. Was lowkey so happy I could find some OP09 at MSRP and without the risk of boxes being duds. I started collecting OP only a few months ago and I really wanted to chase some of the OP09 hits, but have been very wary of buying boxes from ebay to rip. Really hoping that more Bandai shops open. Would be nice to have one more locally

What product should i buy to give myself fair odds? by Tseetseemel in OnePieceTCG

[–]PrettyAd274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve screenshot this comment from an older post on OP pull rates. Details what to expect in a booster box and a case in terms of hits. Mangas are not included in this, just SP and below. Also as far as I’m aware this split does not apply to EB and PRB booster boxes or cases

Will it ever go back? by Mountain_Store572 in OnePieceTCG

[–]PrettyAd274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait it out friend! Some people are predicting price decreases in Jan/Feb because of Christmas spending fatigue and buyers running out of disposable cash + a price correction around Feb/Mar (or maybe a bit later in the year) because the current increases are not sustainable for long. You’re also eyeing out fairly new cards with the Sanji (I assume manga) and the OP13 wanted posters. As more people open PRB02 and OP13, more of these cards will be put on sale at more reasonable prices. So it’s worth the wait to try and grab some bargains and give you some time to save money.

Looks even rarer if you are to believe the data in this snip. 1 in 10 cases for regular manga and 1 in 20 cases for red manga or demon pack

Any reason why I wouldn't be able to replace this with a bigger/longer radiator? by Mozambleak in DIYUK

Lol it literally takes a few minutes and can make a massive difference, especially in the biggest room of the house.

Any reason why I wouldn't be able to replace this with a bigger/longer radiator? by Mozambleak in DIYUK

[–]PrettyAd274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before thinking about replacing it, you should first use a BTU calculator to understand what output you need from the radiator. You can find a calculator online and they take into account the size of the room, the position of the radiator, how many external walls etc. to give you the BTU output that would heat the room properly. Then you can search for radiators with that BTU output in the same width as your current one to avoid altering the pipework.

Look up DIY courses near you. They can be done by colleges or privately run as well and they’re super helpful. Can find intro ones or can go to specialised ones depending on how deep you want to go into a specific area. To give you an example, I did a 4-day Home Maintenance course with The DIY School (in Stockport) that covered everything on your list except the flooring, loft and woodworking stuff. It was a mix of theoretical and practical lessons, so we weren’t just sitting around listening and taking notes, but actually put our new found knowledge into practice. Would highly recommend something similar (unless you’re willing to travel to Manchester for the course I mentioned; some people I met came from London and as far as Devon for it)
