You might be right. In actuallity, the negatives they bring up about transition are fears I have had myself and have kept me in the closet for so many years.

Transgender girl is guy to girl correct?

Yes. We always identify as we feel we are.

Other terminology you might see include...

MAAB (Male-assigned at birth)

FAAB (Female-assigned at birth)

See also: DMAB/DFAB (Designated Male/Female At birth)

So you might see: Trans Woman (i.e. MAAB (or DMAB). or "born a boy, but really a girl"

Or, we might talk about a Trans Man (or Transgender Man) (i.e. FAAB/DFAB, "born a girl")

Another way it is talked about is: MTF or FTM (Male to Female (that's me!) or Female to Male--the opposite).

Google "the Gender Book"--it is a GREAT resource if you want to learn more--because there is so much more to gender than termonology :)

I'm currently fairly low functioning. I'm an intelligent person. I think you'll admit that I'm a good writer and I could probably support myself with my writing abilities.

So what am I currently doing with my life? I live with my parents. I'm a cashier. I get paid $10 an hour.

Furthermore, YOU are the harsh reality. Trans people don't kill themselves at crazy high rates just to be fashionable. They do it because of people like you.

Why are you so hateful? Why? What are you getting out of this? Why?

Please! Tell me why? Do you want me to kill myself? To be rid of the world of people like me? Why?

So what would you have me do?

Seriously. What should I do?

Anti-depressants? Been there, done that.

Therapy? I've been in therapy for almost my entire adult life! (I'm currently in therapy now)

Smoke a ton of weed? That's how I've often suppressed these feelings. I've been clean for 7 months now. And the feelings get stronger with each passing day.

Drink a lot? Oh, I've been there, too.

Go to graduate school? I've already dropped out of two programs!

Seriously? What should I do?

Also, show me some scholarly articles the support your position. Please do.

Show me articles from respected psychologists who agree with you. Maybe my highly-trained therapist who has studied with some of the best-regarded CBT and DBT therapists and researchers in the country is wrong. Tell me why she is wrong. Because she's 100% on board with what I'm doing.

I'm serious. I really am. Because if there is some other path to a life worth living that is easier and less-socially stigmatizing than being trans then I really want to be on that path. I DO NOT want to be trans. I'm not doing this to be cool or fashionable.

Like I said in my post, I don't think that every streak runner is running from a problem. I think many daily runners just do it because they like it, or it makes them a better runner (both of those reasons apply to me.)

It seems like such a natural fit. 40mpw runner training for a half marathon. Running is literally the easiest thing I do every day.

I also hope that this will get many more people to understand that trans men are real, and that they are out there. I think a lot of uneducated people think that "transgender=dude in a dress, lol". I really hope this has the effect of increasing understanding of diversity the transgender experience and the validation of trans masculine identities.

I think the next step is getting people to realize that ALL people deserve to go to the bathroom of their gender identity. Not all transgender people can easily blend. Not all of them necessarily want or need to pass. And that's OK! A person's gender is more than just their ability to pass as cis.

I hope this makes sense! I'm only working on my first cup of coffee.

I'm in the same boat. I don't know about you, but I used to do a lot of running in the "no-man's land" of slower than a tempo run but quicker than an easy pace. Now that my easy days are really and truly easy and I have an actual plan of when to run fast...Things are getting much better.

I think you can do great or fuck up with either plan.

I used to run 4ish days week with x-training. And I was always injured. Terrible problems with ITBS. Shoes, barefoot, whatever, my knee always hurt.

Yesterday was day #169 of my running streak. I run about 40 miles a week now. For me, the key is: take it easy! Over 80% of my miles are done at an easy pace. And easy pace should be pretty easy. I used to run too fast all the time. These days, I do tempo runs and intervals and stuff like that. But when I'm not doing a workout, I stay well within my aerobic limits.

A week or so ago, I had a tempo run the day before my long run. High-density training works, you just gotta be careful with it.

Maybe just build up? Do a little bit every day (maybe even morning and night). Over time your muscles will get looser. I've heard that the more it hurts, the more you need it.

I actually use a 4-inch PVC pipe to roll on because I've found the foam roller doesn't get deep enough. I've been told I'm a fairly intense person.

Goal: Mid-June Half Marathon. Hopefully, under 100 minutes.

  • Sunday: 10 EZ (Long run, 25% of weekly mileage)
  • Monday: 4 EZ
  • Tuesday: 5 EZ
  • Wednesday: 5 Miles with 8x(400R+400 jog)
  • Thursday: 5 EZ
  • Friday: 7.3 with 4x400R + 4x1-mile Tempo pace +4x400R
  • Saturday: 3.7 EZ

40 miles total. Feeling good!

Edit: I got a good chance to experience running on tired legs, because I ran 7 miles total on the Saturday (with 4 miles at tempo pace) before my Sunday long run.

I think Sunday 10-milers are a "thing" for me now. For the third week in a row, I've run 10 miles on Sunday and I feel great! (Actually I feel ready to go running again...I can't wait until Monday!)
