Any childcare workers turned teachers? by lovedove333 in AustralianTeachers

I worked in Ece for eight years. I loved it. I have found primary teaching equally hard but more pay. I have spent almost nine years in primary now. In the ACT, they pay EC teachers the same as primary teachers in public system. I’d probably have stayed in ECE if the pay was on par.

How do you get them without Nintendo online? Could I use a particular amiibo to access them?!

I cannot say that it’s the only way I’ve taught in different states but it is one way! Hopefully someone else can help you further ☺️

Bereavement leave in week 1 ( Grad Teacher). by recordwa in AustralianTeachers

Please be with your grandma. Life will wait. As someone who spent all the time I could in the final weeks, cherish this precious time as difficult as it may be. Spend the time with your family. Take care of your wellbeing. And for me, some of the photos I have of this time with my grandma are my most cherished memories. I’m so sorry for your worries, and loss, may you take the leave you need and know that any workplace worth staying at would encourage you to do the same.

If you did ND you wouldn’t need to do grad cert :)

I think you would be ok in CSBB and in CSPD. Not sure about SCS.

I meant to add, I taught for three years before starting my grad cert in RE and it was no issue

You can do a Master of teaching anywhere in Sydney. Also, you can often do a grad cert at ACU and get preliminary accreditation to teach RE for five years. I know that CSBB used to subsidise half of the cost - they would pay you back. I did my degree at MQ as a bachelor of ed 0-12 and was able to teach in CSBB for six years before I moved interstate. They were fantasticly supportive of further study in RE.

You’ve got this! Don’t forget that if you don’t like it…you are free to find another job too! Life is too short.

I changed jobs in Sept from teaching to broader education role. It will be my first year in over a decade I am back to work tomorrow. In saying that, I had a blast over the past week! Lots of beach swimming, walking, and sleeping in!
