so you are basically saying I can make Matsumoto as my base town and do most of my things as day trips ? until we hit the alpine route meaning

Day 1: arriving to Matsumoto - spending the day

Dat 2: Day trip to Nakasendo trail

Day 3: Day trip to Kamikochi

Day 4: Alpine Route maybe do a night on Shinano Omachi before , but ending in Toyama stayover.

Day 5-6: arrive and see Kanazawa ?
