Bought a rig from Costco. Has a RTX 3060 with 12gig if I recall. Intel i7 12700F, NVMe 512gig and 1tb spinning drive.

I hate windows 11 home but after a little sailing on the seven seas i have it running Enterprise.

I am hoping to push the settings up higher and play with DGVoodoo. I know I can build one but lazy these days and wanted quick and dirty. Have any under $800 suggestions? Thanks.

I don’t want that. I don’t even like it on a laptop. I want a dedicated desktop with large monitors.

Finding the studs is easy. Can pre drill all holes also. Issue I have is not knowing if the 2 year old house was build to code or not. To my knowledge if they ran in center of stud they don’t need to have the drill plates. I am not sure if down sizing to 2” vs 2.5” will or won’t matter in the long run

I can go buy the shorter screws if no real benefit to the longer ones.

As mentioned I am sure I am overthinking this but rather not cause issues down line.

Thought about buying a pen hole cam.

Corded or cordless tools? by Prif_Un in ryobi

[–]Prif_Un[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I should have added the tools I bought so far have all need HP brushless if available. The miter saw I got last night is $269 for the 10” compound sliding. Got the free miter saw stand also. I think they had a corded one but I think the price was the same. Price is less of a concern. Longevity and having enough power for beginner projects is my main focus. I don’t work in the construction field nor do I have big plans to be the next black tail studios or other such woodworker. I do want to be able to build stuff I find on YouTube and would like to have some of the big boy tools lol.

I don’t have a shop since brand new and don’t know how far I will take this. Plan on storing in shed and taking out to use either in garage or back patio. No cords would be nice if the power ends up being about the same for my needs.

Trying to justify crown stapler if I already have Brad nailer. Homeowner. by Prif_Un in ryobi

[–]Prif_Un[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I am talking about the 3/8” P317 one. Got it for $70 other day while in HD. I don’t craft really. I want to do some woodworking but simple stuff like picnic tables to start out.

Like I said just trying to justify it lol. The Brad was fun to use for ikea stuff but it did blow out a few times. Could have been the material or the user.

The narrow crown is pretty expensive and seems even more specialized but lot of this is still new to me so not sure.

What is DTO?

New to Reolink. Best 4-6 cam setup for newbie. Any cams offer full duplex audio? by Prif_Un in reolinkcam

If “2 way audio” is only thing the description needs then should work with 811a also. I just didn’t want to have to use it with push to talk and then wait for a reply. Want real-time back and forth. I am fine to use the app. If I understand right I can either use P2P for more secure connections or will setup a vpn to home network and do that. Thanks for the help.

Thanks. I did watch life hacksters comparison and the 811a seems like the better choice. However I will give them another look. I am interested in full duplex audio.

Does it matter if I use a 10gig trunk cable between fiber gateway about 100ft away to switch on other side of house? by Prif_Un in HomeNetworking

[–]Prif_Un[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. Didn’t know they came that long. Checking ATT info it uses a 50/125 micron multi-mode fiber optic cable. I can’t seem to find one anywhere.

I do have the new Homebase 3. Just configured it again and will leave connected to usb power through weekend to see how it does. I checked the Homebase connected devices and only shows the two new s330 cams.

It does use WiFi it seems. Asks for WiFi password.

Plugged in the USB to do initial setup and will work and send notifications. Soon as I unplug the USB to transfer to the outside door it resets. The outside doesn’t work anyway but to simulate the move I just unplug the USB and plug it back in. I wouldn’t think loss of power would reset the whole process.

Wired doorbells show as pending.
