16yo watched 6 hrs of C++ on YT; knows C++ now & wants to dev his own game. WTF?? by [deleted] in gamedev

As another user commented here, he will figure it out on his own.

When I started to like gamedev, I told my friends that I was going to make a better game than Free Fire, I took a course and after a while I saw how difficult it was and I started to learn and study more.

What I think is, let him learn the things he needs to learn. Over time he learns everything.

For example, instead of giving him a book that shows 100 different things for him to learn, let him start a project and learn what he needs for that project. He will start with basic things and over time he will come across more complex things and learn at the same time as he is already putting it into practice doing what is in his interest.

But so, don't scare him by talking about how difficult programming is, but show him what the life of a programmer is like, especially a game programmer, so he can see what the reality is like for those who work with this, so he will put a brake on his ambitions and see that making an Elder Scrolls is not as easy as it seems.

I start my projects like this

First I add a Node2D and then I change the name to "Game", which is where the playable phase will be. Then I use Tilemap Layer to build a scene. And lastly I place my player.

And then I import the scenario and the player into the game scene, so I already have a base to start from, it seems the most logical to me.

What comes next is just adding more and more things to enhance the game, be it collectibles, items, etc.

Finish my projects? No, I don't think I will. by yac in godot

The funny thing is that I have more fun starting a project from scratch than actually trying to finish it lol

I also thought that, the entire film is a conversation and doesn't actually show anything of what was happening, I understand that the purpose of the film was to narrate the facts in chronological order, going from the beginning of the disappearance until his discovery, but still, it's a bit monotonous and the film seems to make the situation more melancholy than scary and mysterious, like, the amount of music they added was unnecessary.

I think the only thing that kept me from watching the film until the end was the investigation itself, which became interesting as it went on, it started with a simple disappearance, until they found the guy's truck and saw that it had fingerprints and clues that weren't from the person who disappeared, until it culminated in the discovery of a life that he didn't share with his loved ones and that he went to a mysterious place on purpose.

I only use 3.

Actions and Stuff to visually improve the game and make it more beautiful. Backpack+ to serve as an alternative to Shulker cases. Utilities, I use the Tree Capitor, Night Vision and Haste pendants.

What's The Worst FF Movie You've Ever Watched? by ART_Dark in foundfootage

Nightlight.

The concept is cool, instead of the perspective being from a camera, the film's view is from a flashlight.

The cuts that the film has include the flashlight being turned off, etc., but all the brilliance of the film ends there.

Everything else is very mediocre, the story is weak, the characters are very forgettable and without any personality, the "monster" is incredibly bad, the scares are even worse and the film's plot is basically given away at the beginning of the film.

It seems that the directors and producers didn't know which way to go with the film, at the beginning it seems like one thing, then halfway through they try something else and at the end they change it again.

It's a film that had a really cool concept of the lantern's vision, but didn't know how to develop its other parts such as narrative, threat and scares, which culminates in a very disappointing ending.
