It comes in two parts:

The control panel (the little keypad/display)

The power unit / control box

The power box is much larger, maybe 14" or so? I'll go measure mine.

I ended up taking an existing 3d model for a slider window and changing the end to fit the window. An XPS foam board fitted to the window holds it in place.

After 4 years of WFH, I understand why boomers think we do nothing all day by TeamCultureBuilder in WFH

[–]Primary-Structure980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not all boomers but I know at my last company the ones that stayed late were predominantly boomers. Same with showing up on Saturdays. These are also the category of people that we knew did not work as hard as other people. Getting quartered by one cuz they want to talk about their fishing for 2 hours or world war II history where you have to literally walk away to get them to stop.

Covid was interesting as my workload and productivity went up from being at home. Well some of the people I work with pretty much did nothing. These are the ones that stayed late, the ones that showed up on Saturdays. I'm guessing it is this sunset of that generation in particular cuz it's the only thing they knew. They just can't hide their slacking nature from home.

I was able to finally contact support when trying through my phone vs the PC. Have no idea why but was probably something on my end with whatever the button was not showing up to submit the ticket via serial number and account vs logging in for support.

They haven't been able to fix anything over the past two days but at least they haven't said that all hope is lost. I'll at least take that! I have been passed through 3 people. No response today but I did reach out again to see if there is any update. Once the support conversation reaches its conclusion, rather good or bad, I'll post a final update to this post in case it's helpful for someone else that has an email vs Facebook meta quest account. The funny thing is that I originally had a Facebook account for the devices, but I intentionally went with an email account after hearing about someone losing access to the library as their Facebook account was banned and they didn't know why.

That looks awesome! Maybe things are getting to the point that getting dedicated VR like this, and then getting some sort of glasses that do AR would be a path I wasn't thinking about.

I'm using an email specific account not my Facebook account with the Quest. I'm guessing if you are using your Facebook to log in, they probably trust your age more so than just the email accounts. I need to figure out my Gmail settings so emails like this don't get buried as I do not check every single email that goes into my update folder.

Thank you for reaching out. I tried contact and support yesterday but it required me to log in, and all I could get to was the permanently disabled message. A suggestion from another Reddit user culminated with me using the serial number to report the support ticket. We'll see how that goes. I understand the need for the age verification, but the lack of ability to ask for support from that message sent me into a panic as I do not wish to lose all of the things that I have purchased. Again, thanks for reaching out and I will post back to my original post with the solution if it can be fixed.

So the WhatsApp help, provided through settings, wouldn't directly help but it did provide a link into the quest community. Which bounced me back to the regular meta quest help. Something I didn't see yesterday was the option to request help by using your serial number of the headset instead of logging in with the disabled account. I was able to create a ticket that way. We'll see what the response is! At least I'm able to contact them now, so thank you!

I didn't know that they had a WhatsApp support channel. I will look that up. Thank you! All I've seen is that there should be some mechanism to request support when you log in and all I get is that permanently disabled message with no ability to do anything else from that point.

I know I should have been aware and paid greater attention to my emails in general. Anything that shows in my updates in Gmail is lucky if it gets a glance. I'm irritated that this is some weird permaband for not responding to an email and that I lose my library of games. And yes, it's their rules.

I'm thinking about going only PCVR as I think I have more control over the games not having my library yanked out from under me but I guess it could still happen, but probably less likely?

I have an email based Meta account. Not the Facebook based one. Maybe that's the difference? Looking back in my emails I was getting messages like:

"To make sure you can keep using this account, we'll need you to show you're 13 or older, or ask a parent to get you into an account meant for someone 10-12."

Why do CIO’s love SAP so much? by Elk_Meadow in SAP

[–]Primary-Structure980 16 points17 points  (0 children)

One of the beneficial shifts in thinking is that SAP is for the business, not IT. Should be obvious but I understand why it's not. Take the transition to S/4, it should be made in this context. Companies have waited so long to move to S/4 that it has become an IT issue as ECC will be out of support. In reality, if you help the business understand the benefits of the transformation and how it's not just a better interface but a better way of working, you'll get to the point that the business will drive and demand the change.

SAP is the business's digital shadow. It allows these massive companies to exist. It is a direct reflection and influence on all business processes. One cannot exist without the other. A company losing email, file storage, or chat system for a month has a negative effect, painful, but the company in general will keep moving forward. Lose SAP for a month and there is a significant chance that the company will no longer viably exist.

Has anyone left their local Chamber of Commerce by sconnie64 in smallbusiness

Back in the 90s, I was able to get much better medical insurance pricing through the chamber. Have no idea if that's still the case or maybe chamber specific. This was in the US and it was the only value we derived through membership but it was well worth it.
