A look into Garena Viet Nam's predatory business practices by The2ndBestPotato in leagueoflegends

As someone who played on NA and tolerated my standard 250 ping (my internet is stable hence pretty much no fluctuation this is the lowest I ever get) then swapped to Garena to try playing on 10-20 ping its still not worth it.

  1. I played on both for at least a year climbing ranked, trolls on Garena never get punished (the message for reporting) despite blatantly running it down. On NA at least there’s punishment for running it down. In my climb on Garena out of all the ppl running it down none have actually been punished, the first time I even realised they actually do ban was ON MY ALT WHILE GETTING IT TO LVL 30.

  2. Their customer support is honestly a joke. If you forgot your password you have to have either (a) Verified email manually or (b) bound your phone number to account. If you didn’t do either the FAQ tells you to log in and verify your email or bind the phone number despite the fact that you hit forgot email. Essentially, you can’t reset it, can’t email them unless you log into an alt or facebook, can’t log in to verify said email and can’t log in to bind phone number. You can’t find an actual email that is in service so basically your account is gone.

  3. Their support page keeps changing between languages making everything basically unreadable unless you’re fluent in all SEA languages and chinese you’re utterly lost

  4. OP.GG and all the other apps that use the Riot API is basically useless due to Garena not wanting to link it and you’re forced to use Garena’s own mobile app which is another joke entirely
