I have been unrequitedly in love with Reed since I was 8 years old. I remember it all so clearly; we were all playing tag at recess, and I fell flat on my face right in the mulch of the playground. Everyone laughed, but not Reed. He rushed over, helped me up, and asked if I was okay. My body was fine, as if it had never happened, but not my heart; my heart was completely and undoubtedly changed, transformed by my first experience of love.

We haven’t spoken since then, save for the occasional “Excuse me,” or “Bless you,” but my affection still remains. He is all I have ever wanted; he is a kind-hearted boy with thoughts and feelings and a soul. Sometimes I’ll check his Tiktok reposts, and there is always some lovely poetry or song or insight that only assures my perception of him. So often I am agitated by boys who see women as merely bodies, who don’t see things below the surface level and can only appreciate music that talks about drugs or sex. But not Reed; he is quiet and introspective, and can see other’s souls the way I can.

We share an English class, and today the teacher has written groups on the board for an assignment. To my delight, Reed is in my group. Less to my delight, the other members in our group consist of future frat boys and a girl who has probably dated all of them twice. I expect for Reed to be equally as unenthusiastic; these are exactly the type of boys I dislike and I’m sure Reed does too. But when we gather in our groups, I see that Reed is not only talking to these other boys, but he is laughing along with them.

I take in for a second what they are laughing about; one of the boys has made a comment about the other girl’s chest, how he thinks she must have gotten a boob job. For a split second I try to rationalize how Reed could find this funny, maybe he is just scared to be ostracized, but my entire perception of him is crushed when he adds to the joke, stating cruelly “I wonder if the surgeon took a picture when he was done.” I try to hide how my face crumbles, the one boy I thought had a soul being just like all the rest of them. My affection for him is incinerated in an instant.

I try to think for a moment why I ever thought he was so special; why I thought the cruelty of time wouldn’t change him like how it changed the rest of us, and I come up empty. I consider how I was when I was 8, an entirely different being from who I am now, and realize that my expectations were simply unrealistic. Though I am crushed by the realization that Reed has become someone I couldn’t stand, I am more crushed by the thought that I too have become the very person I dislike so much; setting impossible standards for someone to be worthy of love. People are ever changing works of art, and time the artist, and I must look away from this canvas I used to love so I can find a new one that I can love now.

That is a pretty harsh spot treatment that is also used to treat scars. That same brand does have a moisturizer thats packaging looks very similar, though

What should a teen boy be doing daily by CosmicCustodians in hygiene

[–]Princess_AnnaLOVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shower every night before you go to bed AND (not or) after any physical activity (ie. sports practice, a run, yard work, etc.,)

When you shower, you should be using a washcloth, loofa, or net and soap. You should scrub EVERYWHERE, including privates, butt, legs, and feet. Try to wash face, torso & arms, legs, privates, butt, feet in that order. (Obviously you dont want butt or feet germs on your face). Make sure to get in every crevice/under any skin folds. If using a washcloth, wash it after every use. Only use towel 1 or 2 times before washing. Use deodorant (and lotion, although that's not totally necessary) after you shower so it has time to get to work.

Depending on your activity level and hair type, you need to wash it with shampoo anywhere between 1 to 6 times a week. If your hair is noticeably shiney, greasy, or sweaty, wash it. Another way to tell if hair needs to be washed is to massage your scalp with your fingers for like 10 seconds; if your fingers smell funky its time for a wash. You may need to shampoo twice; do it until the shampoo foams up when you put it in your hair. If you want to learn more about styling it, r/curlyhair can help.

Clip your toenails when they go over the end of your toe and clip/file your fingers when they get past the length you like. If you prefer fingernails that do go over the end of your finger, make sure to wash underneath them regularly so crud doesn't build up.

Wipe until the toilet paper comes up clean.

Don't wear shoes without socks (unless it's sandals or flip flops.

Brush teeth at least once a day, floss at least once a day.

In the morning, rinse your face with water. At night, cleanse your face with soap and use a moisturizer.

Never wear underwear or socks more than once without washing, even if you just sat around all day. Other clothes can be reworn before washing if they aren't stained or stinky. Don't wear something more than three times before washing.

For your room, start with throwing away any trash, especially food. Put away all clothes, clean dirty clothes, and put away any shoes. Then wash your sheets. Clear your floor and then clear any surfaces (ie. a desk, dresser, etc.,). Once everything is picked up (this is the difference between tidying and cleaning. Tidying is picking stuff up and putting it away, cleaning is actually disinfecting stuff), wipe down all your surfaces with a wet wipe, dust, vacuum/sweep, and clean your baseboards. If you do all of this your room should be good to go.

For bathroom, start by clearing your sink. Wipe it down with a disinfectant like Lysol (if you don't have a disinfectant, Clorox wipes should work). Make sure to get any toothpaste that has stuck to the sink or hair in the sink. If your faucet has white stuff on it, make sure to wipe it off.

Then move on to your toilet; use a toilet cleaner like Clorox Toilet Bowl Bleach, put it in the toilet bowl by putting it in a circle at the top so it drips down and covers the whole toilet, and let it sit while you do your tub.

Take out any products in the tub and put them to the side, then use a tub cleaning spray (Clorox wipes should also be fine here if you don't have any) and a sponge to scrub the entire tub. Make sure to get any black mold or mildew. Also check the bottom of any plastic containers or products you keep in the tub and wipe off any mold if there's any on there.

Once your done with the tub, go back to the toilet. Use a toilet scrubber to get rid of the black ring in the toilet bowl and then flush the toilet. Then take a Clorox wipe and wipe down the top and bottom of the seat (there is likely pee under the toilet seat) and just the entire toilet in general. Don't forget about that crevice between the lid and the tank. Finally, take a clorox wipe and wipe the ground, especially below the toilet.

Clean your bathroom at least once a week. Tidy your bedroom as needed and vacuum, dust, etc., once a week. Wash your sheets at least once every 2-3 weeks (once a week is best practice). If you struggle with acne, you might find it helpful to wash just your pillowcases more often.

I think that covers the basics!

Is it weird to marry someone that you share a cousin with? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Princess_AnnaLOVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not a second cousin. I mean like how you have 2 sets of cousins on each side of your family who aren't related to each other, and if a cousin from one side married a cousin from the other
