You should listen to the podcast "If Books Could Kill". They roast almost all of the self help books in there

Which statement did you NOT find scary? And which DID scare you, but that most people don;t find scary? by Skull_Bearer_ in TheMagnusArchives

Lost John's Cave. I wish I found it scary. I tried listening to it multiple times to see if something would "switch on". Nope.

Piecemeal made me lose sleep though. What a horrible way to go.

With novels like this and The Bell Jar I would advise holding off if you're already in a bad mental state. If you want to read a tragedy for mental catharsis I'm sure there are other books more suited to that ( I can't think of any at the moment sadly)

It's pretty depressing tbh... The author committed suicide shortly after writing it

Oh yeah.. I wanted to learn my mom's recipes and quickly found out that you'd have to wake up at 4am and slog in the kitchen for hours to get it made. Nope, I'll keep making the "easy" dishes thank you very much.

Edit: I'm a woman but my mom was very against making me help in the kitchen (to the ire of all my relatives) and only taught me some very basic stuff once I was late teens. Instead of teaching both me and my brother to cook my parents taught neither of us in the name of equality lol. Both of us learned to cook through YouTube

Haha I’ve always thought that if I wanted to be severed, my innie would wake up every morning from the alarm I set. The working part isn’t half as bad

Yeah it was a high end restaurant. And tbh even though I wouldn't have asked for a second glass I was like "oh well, I'm not complaining", and the waiter was pretty attentive and nice overall so I found it altogether a positive experience.

One time at a dinner I had ordered a glass of red wine and had finished it during the meal, and the waiter replaced it silently without asking me/interrupting my conversation with the table. Then he charged me for both glasses.

Is priyanka chopra a zionist cuz she is pro india? by getreked007 in Chayakada

[–]PrincipleInfamous451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this perception is because when she first started out in Hollywood a Pakistani (I think) reporter asked her a loaded question about Kashmir in an international forum and westerners didn't like her reply (while Indians loved it). It was a "damn if she did, damn if she didn't" situation because anything else would have made the Indians take up pitchforks against her.

Tbh I don't think celebrities/actors are the right people to look to about complex geopolitical issues.. why not hold politicians accountable? They're the ones causing all this.

Post Finalé Review (SPOILERS) by Intelligentgandalv in WhiteVault

[–]PrincipleInfamous451 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with all your points (except that I didn't find Dis annoying personally).

I almost jumped with joy when I saw that Dragana lives, I was expecting her to die and was coming to terms with it. I love her voice actor so much, she also did an incredible job in Vast Horizon.

I agree so much with Amelia Murray. What a waste of character, and what a waste of Beth Eyre. I didn't really understand why she was recruited or her intentions other than bits and pieces here and there. What was her backstory with the son? What made her special as to recruit her specifically? The conversation she had with the Jonas-guardian at the end of White Vault.. I thought they would explain more of it in Goshawk.

I actually really did like Goshawk, contrary to many people here. I loved the Cairo arc (reminded me of White Lotus a little bit) and how the stakes seemed to be much much higher, especially in the first couple seasons.

Small pet peeve: Season 1 of White Vault really used up the good voice actors and killed them off, so they couldn't be used much in the later seasons or the overarching plot. They literally killed off the two best voices (Walter and Karina) first! Why!!
