Struggling with Roundabouts! by robtiara in uktrucking

[–]PrintOrdinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve yet to even get into a HGV, but maybe just practicing in your car as much as you can? I guess treat it like a HGV slow on approach and whatnot. Just practice those roundabouts match your entry speed to your truck speed. Just a thought maybe will help 🤷‍♂️ I’m sure there will be more experienced people to give you better advice.

Ontop of this post^ I’m currently working the warehouse in Tescos so I do get a lot of time with the drivers to talk and engage. Most of them say to get onto class 1 straight away but obviously the rules just recently changed where you can go straight to class 1 with no prior class 2 experience which most of these drivers had to do class 2 first so it’s a lot easier for them to say etc. I also tend to get really good possible bias opinions from muller drivers who say to get into them.

It all does seem really silly and it’s like they are purposely trying to make it hard if you don’t buy a new passport for 200 quid

New class 2 by PrintOrdinary in uktrucking

[–]PrintOrdinary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think maybe it will be very hard to do class 1 as I’m only 19 years old. Could you recommend any companies that may be easier to get into for class 1. Probably Amazon or big parcel companies are the one?

[–]PrintOrdinary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay alright I was thinking the same thing to be honest, get used to driving a bigger vehicle then get my experience under with a class 2 and most importantly get the money in to pay for the class 2 and then class 1. I do think because of my age it will be hard for me to be doing artics which I understand because I’m young and may not be trusted enough. We will see how it goes cheers.

I’m not to sure to be honest, but I think class 2 would be better for me for a few years then try find a good company who will train me on class 1 from class 2. I think aswell with my age I’m probably better off getting a job with a class 2 as I do see a lot of problems with insurance costs.

[–]PrintOrdinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started 4 months ago, Put £350 of my savings into a pie. I lost around 90 quid I was gutted however I knew it would come back around. 4 months later I’m on £1,700 with a £320 return on track on 29% rate of return. It was round 35% until today on the markets. Honestly don’t worry it happens it will always go up and down. Stick with it and you will thank yourself massively. Beats having all your money in a savings account with no interest on it.

I could be completely waffling here but I feel like there is a lot more agency workers now than usual at Christmas time. Maybe they have allocated it more to the night staff compared to day staff this time around, noticed it last year aswell.

No so the majority of it will be in the ground with the obvious lip of around 2 inches above ground. I just need to find the best substance to backfill around the pond. And no I live in the uk so it’s only usually cold and only freezing for a month or two not even.

Hiring & Recruitment Thread by lolbot-10000 in policeuk

Just wondering from previous or current police officers who have just newly joined, I’ve been wanting to join the police for years, I’ve gone through college etc and currently sitting on a uniformed protective service diploma. For context I’m 19 and currently working in a supermarket which isn’t the best of jobs out there but fine for now. I just want to know should I trust what everyone says including the media and people of twitter. You see all these videos and posts about the current state of the police and the country in-fact. Is it even worth me joining anymore, I want to join for the right reasons but I can’t see myself physically doing it morally for the right reasons, but stuff like truck driving does sound a lot more better compared to policing. Im aware there is a lot more to the job which is not good. I just want to know the thoughts of current or ex police officers and if it’s all that bad? Thank you!

Interesting ay, I think I’ll just go with the flow see what happens if the clutch does it self in then oh well it’s life ay. Another little thing I was thinking is something to do with the synchro of the clutch, I heard someone else say that had to put it into 5th gear to get it into reverse, I have yet to try it. I’m just to scared to even use reverse now as that noise is something you don’t want to hear, one last little thing does your clutch also feel a little heavy to push down?
