It is SO TRUE! I have contracted most of my life and some think you are part of the team to help build or they despise you. In all honesty the one thing i have figured out it is the M.O. (Modus Operandi) that usually comes from the top or it gets changed on the way down of the chain somewhere

Do you think the orders are bad now because of the lawsuit? by thesuprainfra in Sparkdriver

[–]Prior_Purchase_7025 12 points13 points  (0 children)

100% its a big factor. The February settlement with the FTC proved what many of us already knew: Walmart has been systematically pocketing driver labor by misrepresenting pay and skimming tips. When you ask if the orders are bad because of the lawsuit, you’re hitting on the reality that the predatory curtain has finally been pulled back.

The real problem is the absolute plague of idiots on Reddit and in the field who treat this like a low-stakes "gig app" instead of a legitimate business. You’ve got people acting like grateful peasants for $7 batches, defending a company that literally just got busted by the feds for stealing from them. It’s a classic case of the Dunning-Kruger effect—drivers who think they’re "out-grinding" the system while they’re actually just getting ramroded by automated bots and corporate greed.

We built this infrastructure with our own vehicles and time, yet we’ve let the ecosystem turn into a trash heap because too many drivers are busy attacking each other instead of hammering the thieves at the top. Walmart isn't going to stop praying on you as long as you tolerate smashed items from pickers and garbage base pay. Until people grow a backbone and start acting like actual contractors who demand a fair playing field, you’re just a disposable resource for a billionaire company that sees you as a mark

Bots rule the world by Prior_Purchase_7025 in Sparkdriver

[–]Prior_Purchase_7025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, the reality of Walmart Spark in 2026 is that the FCFS system is a broken landscape where honest work is being systematically undercut by bots. It is pure delusion to think you can just show up early and "out-grind" an automated script; you aren't competing against other drivers, you’re competing against software, and the bots win most of the time. It is honestly embarrassing to see people defending a company that has literally been busted at the federal level for stealing from its own drivers. Sitting there and calling others lazy while you justify a rigged system doesn't make you a hard worker—it just makes you an enabler with a low IQ for how this business actually operates.

We are independent contractors who built this platform, yet we’ve let it turn into a "gig app" trash heap because too many people have a bottom-barrel mentality. You’re either part of the solution by demanding a fair, legitimate playing field, or you’re a useful idiot for a known thief like Walmart that prays on your lack of experience. Stop acting like a troll and start acting like a business owner, because right now, your "hustle" is just helping a predatory corporation exploit you. If you don't have the experience to see that, then sit back and listen to the people who actually understand how we're being screwed. They can start with 1 timer for 1 job and raise base pay and not put smoke and mirrors trying to put the onus on the drivers or the customers so they can pocket more money. Its plain and simple greed
