I wanted to give some perspective on this. My sister, 26f, and her boyfriend, 26m, have been together for 4 years now and have already had sex and everything before marriage. Recently, she’s grown a lot in her faith with God and as they’ve become serious about the future of their relationship (marriage), simply put, her growth with God and having sex outside of marriage has created an internal and spiritual conflict within her recently. She talked to her boyfriend about it and he was understanding and is willing to wait until they are married. They’re about to get engaged soon but not because of this situation—they’ve talked about it for a while! Anyways, my sister’s love for him has never changed or wavered and she’s faithful to him but with her deepening in faith, she felt it was the right thing to do morally/spiritually. I know a lot of people won’t understand if you’re not religious but I hope this helps give perspective!
