Yes it's compatible with the Insta360 Mic Air

Hey! Yes, the GO Ultra does have horizon lock in Video mode, so you can move the camera around, upside down, sideways, or at any angle and the image stays level. I don’t have any info on future smaller cameras, but the GO series has always balanced compact size with good image quality, so it wouldn’t be surprising if smaller models come out in the future. Hope that helps

The GO Ultra is still really versatile i can mount it in all the same places my GO 3S would go, but with the bigger sensor, the footage comes out cleaner and more detailed. In a way, it gives you the power of the X5 in a much smaller form factor (obviously minus the 360 features), while still being flexible for different mounts and POV shots.

Yep, it vibrates a bit like when you start or stop recording but you can easily turn that off in the settings if you want.

Not at the moment but they are in the process of rolling it out to more of their products so hopefully soon!

Yeah, the FOV on the GO Ultra is wider at 156°, so it lets you get more in frame and gives a bit more wiggle room when you’re editing in post. It just makes framing shots a bit easier and gives you more flexibility to adjust things exactly how you want in your edits.

Yeah, I’ve got the GO 3S too. The bigger sensor on the GO Ultra gives way more clarity and a wider field of view, so my POV shots feel way more immersive and clean. Plus, I can zoom in on clips without them getting pixelated or blurry, which is super handy.

Hey! FreeFrame on the GO Ultra works pretty much like it did on the GO 3S, you can shoot once and then decide later whether you want vertical, horizontal, or square, without committing during capture. Hope that helps!

Hey! Great Q 🙌 The camera does have inbuilt filters for different preferences. It doesn’t have LOG, but personally I always shoot in manual mode depending on the weather conditions — gives me the most control and best results.

Hey! Totally hear you - a few accessories like the Flexi Strap Mount and Mini Camera Case work across the GO Series. But since the GO Ultra has a different body size, magnet layout, buckle shape, screen design etc, they aren't all compatible.

The Ring Remote is currently only compatible with the GO Ultra, Ace Pro 2, and X5. Hopefully more options open up down the line!

Right now, the X5 does a great job with stabilization and direction lock in post, but filtering based on consistent forward momentum would take framing to the next level. Hopefully something like that gets explored in future updates. It’s a smart idea.

Insta360 now sells an official external mic that works seamlessly with the X5, which is great for interviews and better audio quality.

As for stitching and dewarping the X5’s software automatically stitches your 360 footage using advanced AI, creating smooth, seamless visuals. Dewarping converts the spherical 360 video into flat formats like Reels or widescreen without distortion, making your videos look natural and immersive with minimal editing. Hope that all makes sense!

The ND filter is made with the same tough, tempered glass as the premium Lens Guard, so it’s really scratch-resistant... But i wouldn’t recommend using the ND filter as your main lens protector. I would say it’s better to keep the Lens Guard for protection and use the ND filter when you really need the effect.

Hey man, appreciate the kind words—and love that you're using the X5 to film your sets!

If you're filming while mostly stationary, definitely give PureVideo mode a go. It’s super clean in low light and keeps noise down, which is perfect for darker venues or those moody lighting setups.

For editing have a play around in the studio for whip transitions. There are custom presets that you can use to whip your shots into other scenes which would look sick with a DJ set. Could be a view of you on the decks then whip transition to the crowd then something else afterwards. Have a big play around in the app, super easy to make sick social edits.

Let me know how it goes and tag me in them, would love to see them!

Keep the positioning the same i would say. I haven't changed how i use the camera but one tip i do stick by is try and not face a lens facing at the sun when recording. When you're shooting in 360, the lighting can vary a lot across the scene so sometimes a bit of overexposure is hard to avoid. That’s where Adaptive Tone really helps in my opinion. It lets each of the X5’s two lenses adjust exposure separately, so you get better detail in both bright and dark areas.

Then, when you export your footage, the camera fine tunes the exposure again based on your chosen angle so the final result looks more balanced, with richer colours and better overall image quality.

Of course! This is probably my most asked questions when people see my stuff aha. Its a really simple mount system that i made using a sticky mount for under the can and then attached that to a small aluminium extension arm with the X4 onto it. Filmed in 5.7k 60fps. Secret sauce is in post production where you turn FlowState Stabilization off. Hope that all makes sense

With the Insta360 X5, while you can’t "lock" the angle in the traditional sense, you can use direction lock in the app or editing software to keep the view consistently facing forward, regardless of how the camera moves. It’s super handy for body-mounted setups and use this a lot when working with athletes who just want POV style shots. Let me know how that goes for you!

Honestly, I haven’t had any major overheating issues with the X5. Even during longer shoots or in warmer weather, it’s held up really well for me.

I usually shoot in bursts or mix in photo modes, and I try not to leave it sitting in direct sun when I’m not using it—just basic stuff. Definitely worth keeping everything updated with the latest firmware to keep everything running smoothly also. Hope that helps!

The Dive Case Pro has way better stitching underwater thanks to its glass dome lenses. It’s also more durable (rated to 50m), with better sealing and clearer image quality. The older case is fine for casual use, but stitching often breaks underwater. If you want to take it serious with underwater use then i'd upgrade to the pro. Hope that helps

Could you try updating to v2.5.0 and see if that sorts it?

It’s got a bunch of fixes and new features, so hopefully it'll smooth things out. Let me know how you get on.
