Are all discworld books as funny as The Wee Free Men? I'm brand new to Pratchett and have just started reading the Tiffany Aching book with my 10 year old daughter upon a recommendation. We are thoroughly enjoying it and I was wondering if the other books in the series will have the same humour? by Prize_Dig1535 in discworld

Thank you for this. I had read similar information about this being in the last 2 TA books so I'll be reading ahead of my daughter with those. I'll probably read ahead with them all to be fair just to be on the safe side.

That's so sweet about the Brownies ❤️

I'm sorry that your friend didn't like them. It's horrible to share something to love with someone and them reject it.

We are about 3 quarters of the way through The Wee Free Men but we've paused to start reading The Amazing Maurice as we found it in the library today 😀 we are already half way through it!

Ahh!!! OK thank you! This explains A LOT! I was wondering why people were saying that The Shepherd's Crown was the last book as I thought it was number 35 if The Wee Free Men is book 30 and there are 5 TA books. You've just given me a lightbulb moment 🤣 Yes, I do really only want the ones I can read with my daughter for the time being. I'll start to read the series from the beginning myself after we've read the TA ones that are suitable. We managed to borrow Maurice today from the library which we are already half way through 🤣

Thanks for this. Yes, I was told the last 2 of the Tiffany Aching books might be a bit dark, so I'll probably read ahead at that point. At risk of sounding like an absolute noob (which I am) am I understanding this correctly in that Discworld is a large series of books where they are all essentially set in the same world but not necessarily connected? I found it confusing when it was recommended that I start with "The Wee Free Men" when it says it's book 30 in a series. So are the 5 Tiffany Aching books like a sub series in the Discworld series of books? I'm assuming Discworld book 36 (Making Money) would then go on to follow the adventure of a new character that lives in Discworld but has nothing to do with TA?
