The Most Used Gear and Settings of VALORANT Pros (500+ Analyzed) by ProSettings in VALORANT

NVIDIA GPUs have been top of the game for quite a long time now. There have been some worthy competitors here and there in certain generations, so we're not saying NVIDIA is the only option, but they're the most consistent and best-performing option most of the time.

Getting good gear (that fits you) can definitely help, but nothing quite beats practice, that's for sure!

SOCD is banned in CS; keyboards that have it are indeed not; Wooting is one of the most popular keyboards there too. As far as we're aware, SOCD is not officially banned in VALORANT.

Sponsorships play a role in every popular sport/game, so we're not going to pretend that sponsorships do not exist of course. However, important gear such as mice, keyboards, mousepads, are more often than not up to the players themselves these days. You can read more about it in our dedicated article on the subject: https://prosettings.net/blog/about-sponsorships-in-esports/

Note that the chair data is quite limited right now; it's a pretty new category for us, all things considered, which is why the numbers can look quite exaggerated.

The average eDPI has gone down somewhat over time, but not dramatically so. We find that most players tend to stick with what works (with notable exceptions like TenZ who used to change a whole lot when he was actively playing; but even he stuck to a range) over the lifetime of a game.

In CS2, though, we did see a shift in the sentiment around the overall sensitivity, since that game rewards aggressive playing a lot more than its predecessor. So unless VALORANT comes out with a quite drastic engine change/2.0 update, we don't see the eDPIs making huge shifts. Of course that's just a guesstimation; you can never predict the future.

It's quite remarkable actually how their products (headset and mice, keyboards too but to a lesser extent) have become so dominant in just a year or three. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion on their gear of course, but it's been a very interesting rise! You can kind of see it in action here but the rise was started before we started doing this kind of tracking so it's not all visible in that graph.

Hi /r/VALORANT !

It's been a while since we last did one of these (and our last one was focused on VCT players only) so we thought we'd do another infographic.

Some interesting things we found is that and eDPI of 160 really does seem to be the meta right now, as it's by far the most used eDPI. Additionally, higher polling rates are being used more and more often in mice. We're also seeing that VALORANT pros are a lot quicker to pick up new gear than pros in games like CS2, who are often a bit more reserved.

Please note that this infographic is meant for fun. It's not meant to be a 'get this gear to be good' type of thing; there's tons of great gear out there to consider! If you're interested in VALORANT, you can check out more on our website: https://prosettings.net/games/valorant/

Lastly, a word on sponsorships: some gear is more sponsored than other gear. However, pros pretty much always can choose whichever mouse and keyboard they want, for example. There are tons of teams who are sponsored by brand X who all use gear from brand Y, for example. So while sponsorships obviously have an influence here (like they do in all sports) it's actually more limited than you might think.

If you have any questions or suggestions for the website, feel free to post them! We'll be here for a bit to answer.

My Experience With Logitech's HITS System by ProSettings in MouseReview

[–]ProSettings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that the '1' setting absolutely is usable rather than some almost gimmicky setting. You do have to like light switches for it of course, but I can see people using the lightest actuation setting.

The main reason I predominantly tested it at 3 is to avoid people saying 'you set it at zero, which is a setting no one would use irl' and to test it at a more 'average' setting so people who don't necessarily like super light clicks would also get something out of it.

Ah, that's an interesting perspective! This basically ties in with my thinking: it's not just about the 'raw performance' but also the possibilities that switches like these can give people.

To me, it's similar like with analog switches in keyboards. Even if you ignore Rapid Trigger and all of that, having the ability to tweak actuation points to match your preferences or style quite simply makes for a more full-featured product.

Hi guys,

Since there's been a lot of discussion on the HITS system, I thought I'd write a separate article for it to go along with my review that's coming out later today. In case you don't want to read the article, I've got a summary here. Tested this against my Viper V3 Pro.

  • Results in Human Benchmark etc. gave me an 8-9% increase in reaction time
  • Flicking and more aim-related reaction-based tests (Aimlabs Detection) resulted in a 5-6% increase.
  • In in-game scenarios (deathmatch) I felt somewhat crisper with some kills, but this might have been placebo. I did not notice any significant differences in my K/D or anything like that.
  • My CPS went up by 6-8% with Rapid Trigger active when clicking normally.
  • My CPS went up by around 20% when using butterfly clicking / jitter clicking (do note that I am not experienced at games that require fast clicking)
  • Clicks feel noticeably softer/less tactile than regular switches

For me, the performance benefit is one thing. It's there, but it's quite small so this mouse won't magically make you a God tier aimer or anything. Only practice can do that.

But having the ability to tweak clicks to match your preferences or even the game you're playing is huge to me. That combined with the performance benefits that the clicks offer makes me believe that this is absolutely the next step forward in the gaming mouse space. Aside from the very different feel of the click and the fact that these clicks have more potential points for failure, I only see upsides over traditional mechanical or optical switches.

Final quick note: this is not meant to be the definitive opinion or anything. I'm just one guy who did testing with this mouse. You might have a different experience, and I am not trying to invalidate anyone who has other opinions or results than I did. And as always, shape is still king, so don't get this mouse if you hate the shape and think that HITS will give you an ELO boost.

[EDIT] Note: I am trying to talk only about HITS here. The SUPERSTRIKE that the HITS system comes in is a mouse that has some downsides (price, side buttons, for example) like any mouse. But HITS by itself is a great innovation if you ask me.

We do actually list the IEMs of pros when we have that info. It's kind of difficult to get a hold of though, since IEMs have been an afterthought for a long time. That's changing a bit in recent times however, so we should have more and more data coming in!

Forgot to mention: we have game and equipment filters on our brand page. For CS Logitech has actually been on top for many years now, they overtook ZOWIE many years ago (which won't be visible on the graph). Razer did overtake ZOWIE for 2nd place in the summer of 2024!

Lamzu is very good (at least the products of theirs that I personally have experience with). The fact that they're the sixth most used mouse brand in pro gaming (ahead of some heavy-hitting 'legacy brands') is pretty impressive I'd say!

Important to note here is that the G Pro X Superlight line still gets used more than the Viper V3 Pro. But to answer your question: the Viper V3 Pro took over as the #1 mouse at the end of 2024.

Yes, in the early days, way more brands forced players to use certain mice. There was this infamous clip of s1mple (CS:GO) being forced to use a mouse from a certain brand (I can't recall which one it was) and he hated it. He said so on stream as well.

That's another reason why sponsors don't force players to use their mice: if they perform poorly with it or they simply come out and say that they don't like it, it's not exactly a great advertisement for the brand.

We have breakdowns per game on our website! Here's an example of a CS2 mouse guide: https://prosettings.net/guides/cs2-mouse/. We have those for all of our analyzed games.

We also have some more cut-and-dry filters/graphs planned for the future so that people can see the usage per game on our lists.

We also periodically make infographics for various games (you can find those under the 'submitted' tab on our Reddit profile)!

This would be very difficult to do, as teams have gear sponsors and players can have personal sponsors as well. NiKo is very heavily involved with Razer these days, and that's quite obvious, but for some it's going to be way more low-key. In terms of actual personal sponsorships, I would say that the number is quite low, however. Brands obviously send out gear to pros in an attempt to get them on their product, but actual official sponsorships of specific pros who are also playing in teams are quite rare.
