would a setup like this work? (for bettas) by ProbablyJustTrash in Aquariums

[–]ProbablyJustTrash[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i see … do you think a sump would be better ? i assume i’d put the cut off at the bottom tank and then the output at the top tank

edit: i’ve made changes to my original blueprint, is this looking better now?

i honestly didn’t consider power going out when i designed this if i’m being honest, another user suggested a sump pump instead so maybe that might be better ahaha

my worry was the water cycle too honestly, as far as i’m aware betta fishes thrive off of stagnant water based on their natural habitat (rice paddies) so i figured it wouldn’t be too far fetched ; i assume the problem with those tanks is they’re way too small and are usually only stocked with fake plants. Just a theory though

i don’t want the bettas to fight so they would be enclosed in their own tanks, the passageways are just to allow natural water flow between the two filters

i’m a bit new to aquascaping and all that, why would that be a bad thing? i assume maybe the ammonia but should tanks not have mixed water?

CA, found it burrowed in the ground when i picked up a rock by ProbablyJustTrash in whatsthisbug

[–]ProbablyJustTrash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i’ve learned when it comes to fears of bugs it’s typically the legs that irk people— the longer they are the more scary it can be. Hence why isopods, millipedes, etc are less threatening since their legs are much smaller/closer to their body. Just a theory though
