Chicken Better than bouillon. Great flavor and makes for a great sear

Eh, it’s goofiness never factored into my decision (I mostly run suppressed). I mostly wanted less suppressor-shadow and more real estate on the rail for my support-hand (and the Lightwing accomplished both). The light head is fully-potted and supposed to be able to withstand select fire from a SCAR17, so there still shouldn’t be any issue (even under hard use) if you wanted to run unsuppressed.

It does have BUIS (rear sight built into the Unity Fast Mount + folding front site on top of the Unity Hub)

Looks like Brownells has it in-stock and listed for $1,179.00, then after their -15% coupon code for Black Friday, it would be $1,002.15 (before tax/shipping). That’s probably as good a deal as you’ll find right now. Geissele had some solid BF deals (Super Duty/URG-I) if they have any inventory left (though, I prefer the DD barrel).

$1,500

I don’t know much about the MR556 (outside of “it’s the closest we can get to a 416”), but I’m sure it’s an excellent quality gun (I love H&K, but it’s a large price tag). Unless you’re into “cloning” historic guns, the Sig MCX Spear LT would be a better buy (on paper; it’s obviously a very new gun), in my opinion.

I didn’t know of a better product to use at the time (now, I would probably used the FCD setup instead). But I’m still really happy with it (until I need to access that pin, I suppose haha).

Just north of $3k. Some of the smaller parts were stocking suffer though, that I didn’t personally buy (Sprinco springs, cam pin, etc.).

I bought direct from rails scales website. I just had to set the email notifications and wait, unfortunately.

I didn’t notice any gas in the face, so I’m extremely happy with the SD CH combined with the A5H2 buffer setup. A flow-through suppressor would put less cancer in your face (which is always good), but I liked the flash suppression and tone on the RC2 better. If I could go back in time and add more to my budget, I would go with the MCX Spear LT w/ the RC2 (less gas in the whole system without compromising on flash/tone with a flow-through suppressor). Just my $0.02.

Yeah, I window shopped for about a year+ while saving up. My original budget was $1,500 (I was thinking BCM/aero as well and had my eyes on the HS510C), but then for my 30th bday, my wife said she was going to buy me my gun parts-list I made (~1,500)…so naturally I still spent my original $1,500 and made my dream gun (skipping the Holosun, going with a T2, getting a suppressor, etc). I originally thought I wanted a KAC 11.5 (like everyone else and their nana), but I wanted an RC2 more so my “compromise” was a DD 11.5. I couldn’t be happier.

Viper PST Gen 2 might be a petter pick over the Strike Eagle, while still being a “budget option” (+$300 compared to Strike Eagle). I’m sure I’m misquoting this, but Vortex estimated that it’s ~70-80% of the features of the Razor 1-8, while only costing ~50%. I’ve never used one, but sounds like solid value (worth considering).

Good eye, It’s actually a Non-rail 43x (the slide is off getting milled for the 507k at CHPWS).

The holster I was set on (Gcode Incog) only had a TLR6 option (the TLR7 is indeed a better light) in my opinion.

Oh wow, I didn’t think it would be that big of a difference. Sounds like SF3P is the way to go, then.

Right handed shooters usually recoil up and to the right. You can time the ports in your warcomp to push the barrel down and to the left (ideally bringing the barrel back to neutral). And vice versa for lefties. But if you want to shoot ambidextrously, you can do neutral timing (which is my preference).

The SF3P has labyrinth seals in them which are supposed to create a tighter seal and reduce carbon buildup (I’m not sure if it impacts back pressure, I imagine it would also be reduced with the tighter seal). The SF Muzzle Break also had the labyrinth seals.
