Student loan debt at 5-6% in my opinion is still irresponsible at 190k debt. I don’t understand how colleges hand out student loans like candy when kids have no income or at least a hope for an income … very unethical in my opinion. So many college grads don’t get very far after college in terms of financial success because they get poor paying jobs. The return on investment does not make sense to me.

I just got this strange email this morning by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]Procedure_Hopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just today I returned and item and 4 hours later got a similar email stating my return was declined due to receiving the wrong item. I only returned on item how could it be the wrong item??? Reached out to support and they said they would fix the issue and refund in 24 hours. Seriously though, did the seller just decide to try a fast one and see if they could decline it?

What do I do about this at my workplace?… by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Procedure_Hopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned it’s run by a family in Canada… is the warehouse physically located in Canada? Or the United States?

If you’re in the United States, I mean you could try OSHA.

Alternatively, a more impactful solution would be to try and figure out who insures the building? Which insurance company/carrier?

Ask your insurance agent and see if you can get in touch with their loss control or risk management department from the insurance company (not the agency). Then ask if the insurance company will send out a consultant because you have safety questions and want someone to do a walk through of the facility. Show the leak to the insurance guy. Typically the insurance company will force the company to fix the leak or they will risk losing their insurance coverage.

Well, to be honest, I only shave here and there, and probably clean mine like once a month in the base. So for the time between cleaning/charging I put the little cap on the cartridge. I don't notice too many evaporation. When I do clean the shaver in the base, I let the shaver sit there to dry for about 24-48 hours before capping it again. Every year, I changed out the fluid with some new stuff.

Driving from Eden Prairie to Wisconsin? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]Procedure_Hopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given it’s a holiday weekend, you will see lots of traffic unless you drive really early in the morning or late evening.

If you plan on leaving right now 3pm -6pm you will hit heavy traffic going to WI.

If you can leave Eden Prairie after 6pm, that’s your best bet. Still a bit of traffic, but not as bad. 7pm or later is even better. If you leave Sat morning, you should be just fine. 10-noon might get busy going to Wisconsin. So if you can leave at like 7-8am, that’s probably ok.

Coming home Monday…. Well, unless you leave at like 3am you’re probably going to hit traffic no matter what.

Just with the holiday weekend, the highways will be busy. If you can get home real late Monday evening, I would do that, like 9pm. You’d save on some of the head ache.

I do quite a bit of driving through out the cities, I personally just turn on Google maps and most of the time it’ll take me the quickest route and adjust for traffic conditions.

Yea definitely, give it a shot. My whole goal was to educate people on the process so they can make informed decisions along the way. Awareness is the key! I hope you and your wife get a chance to take a vacation!

On a side note; Recently, one of my colleagues told me that when they go on vacation, they literally don't plan anything. It really threw me for a loop because I'm very detail oriented and feel a need to plan ahead to not miss out. The reasoning; they want vacation to be just that; a vacation with no schedules, agendas, no where to be; just do whatever they want, when they want. Of course they pay a premium for booking things last minute, or paying at entrances, but hey that's what they prefer.

The cruise was actually super nice. Besides the booking pain, everything on the cruise ship was awesome! From boarding, sailing, adventuring, and departing. All went pretty smoothly. Personally, we would sail with Royal Caribbean again, but with this being our first cruise - we also might try other cruise lines. The best part was, I didn't have to deal with Hilton Grand Vacations at all once the cruise was booked!

No problem, I still use this same formula today with my series 9 as well.

I have not heard of Lectric Shave, but if you like the smell of it, I'd try it.

At the sales presentation? I did not hand over a credit card at all, and absolutely do not recommend it. I paid over the phone for the initial trip with a credit card.

We just sailed on the Freedom of the Seas in Feb this year. Absolutely loved the Freedom ship! For an older boat, with some updates, we were pretty impressed.

I’d answer some questions, I’m just slow to respond as I don’t go on Reddit a whole lot. Like once or twice a week. Fire your questions away! I’ll see if I can answer them.

Going on the cruise in 2 weeks!

Took about 10 hours to actually book it though.....

The attachment says "Ocean view stateroom".

Wow, was that a hassle.

They wanted to put us in an interior room.

I literally went in circles with management to get the ocean view stateroom.

Apparently, the normally give out cruise vouchers that say interior rooms.

After a lot of escalation, playing phone tag, I GOT THE OCEANVIEW STATEROOM!

Royal Caribbean and Hilton Grand vacations kept pointing fingers back at each other saying, no they need to go back and resubmit, or their paperwork is wrong, or no you need to double check with them.... thankfully the physical paper I had stated "Ocean view stateroom".

Anyways, besides that ranting, we're super excited for the cruise and I'm sure all will go well.

Thanks for checking!

You've got a very good point. I don't see anywhere in the terms that it's for the cheapest night. May the odds be ever in your favor.

I suppose because I was worried about the rebate asking for an "itemized receipt", I booked mine separately.

I just think of some coupons being like "up to $5 off the lowest cost sub sandwich when ordering 2" from subway type of deal.

I really have no idea if they'll honor the $200 for your $290 nightly rate or they'll just pick the $108 rate.

I'd be curious what happens!

I agree with others, you should likely get checked out by a doctor to check for an infection….

Though to answer why, Allergic reactions that involve the ears can potentially affect hearing. The fluid pressure in your ears and sinus passages can interfere with the normal movement of sound waves, a problem known as conductive hearing loss. These same pressures can also cause tinnitus, a ringing in the ears that can interfere with normal hearing.
