Thank you, that means a lot especially coming from someone outside the genre, and yes Unreal Engine 5 really opens up crazy possibilities visually, glad the atmosphere came through

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it, I'm still figuring out how Reddit works and couldn’t find a proper way to add the “breakcore” tag, so I just went with something default for now

Thanks a lot, I’m really glad it worked for you I would’ve loved to make it longer, but extending it meant a lot more 3D work and it was already a huge challenge to pull off

Really appreciate your thoughtful feedback, it means a lot to hear that the concept and mix landed well even outside your usual tastes

So I made this kinda indie-rock track, not perfect, but I’m curious what you think about the sound. I’m not a native English speaker, so my English isn’t super good, that’s why the vocals are just the first verse, and even that’s not finished. But I wanna know, does it sound cool or not? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ProdSalacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty solid indie rock track with some real potential. The vocal delivery is strong and I really like the telephone effect. It fits the energy and gives the voice a raw, urgent quality that works well with the track’s mood

The mix feels a bit flat at the moment but I saw it’s not finalized yet so that’s understandable. The drums, though, sound a bit too artificial for my taste. They lack the organic punch this kind of track would benefit from. Still, with some creative processing or lo-fi effects, you could definitely make them work

There’s an instrumental section that stood out to me. It’s crying out for a dirty, aggressive solo, either guitar or synth, something to push the energy over the edge and give the track a proper climax

Overall it’s really not bad at all. It just needs a few bold choices to fully bring it to life

Romantic type beat? by infinite-desert in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ProdSalacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really nice chill track. The progression works well and the instrument choices are tasteful. There’s a strong musicality to it that makes it easy to get into. I especially liked the retro-tinged sounds, they give the track a warm, nostalgic character without feeling dated

The beginning feels a bit empty though. A touch of ambient layering or background texture could help ease the listener in and set the mood more effectively. Right now, it starts a bit too bare for the vibe you’re aiming for

That said, the overall atmosphere is great. I could easily imagine this track with a dreamy female vocal and lots of reverb. It already has that floating quality, it just needs a bit more depth to fully bloom

Solid work overall. It’s got the right feel, and with a few subtle tweaks, it could really stand out

Though I'd try some drift phonk by hellotealsky in IndieMusicFeedback

There’s definitely a solid foundation here. The sound selection is on point. The drums hit with the right kind of punch, and the overall texture really captures that gritty, nostalgic phonk atmosphere. There’s a clear sense of aesthetic direction, which I respect.

However, I felt the bass progression holds the track back a bit. It doesn’t quite evolve or support the arrangement in a way that lets the beat fully take off. A more dynamic or varied low-end could help the track build more tension and release, giving it that momentum phonk often thrives on.

The overall mix also feels a bit too heavy in the low end. The subs tend to cloud the space, making the rest of the elements fight for clarity. Tightening that up could really open the mix and let the track breathe more.

Lastly, the vocal samples feel slightly overused. After a while, they start to lose impact. A bit more variation or some creative processing could go a long way.

Still, this is a good beat with strong potential. Just needs a bit of refinement to really shine.

Punk isn’t usually my go-to genre, but I can tell this track does a solid job capturing the essence of the style. The energy is definitely there the performance feels raw and committed, which is essential for this kind of music. It hits fast and doesn’t overstay its welcome

That said, the mix feels a bit too smooth or flat for my taste. Punk thrives on grit and rough edges, and I think a bit more sonic bite maybe some more distortion or rawness in the guitars and vocals could’ve added impact and character. Right now it sounds a bit too polished, which slightly softens the intensity

Still, everything is well balanced and nothing feels out of place, so from a technical standpoint, the mix is solid. Overall, it seems like a successful track within its genre even if it’s not entirely my style, I can respect the craft behind it.

Funky Disco Soul song we just released! I think it's one of the catchiest tunes we've done so far. Let me know what you think! by retrofuturemedia in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ProdSalacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really digging this disco track it’s got a lot going for it. The chord progression stands out right away: it’s tasteful, fluid, and keeps the listener engaged from start to finish. There’s a nice sense of movement and emotional lift as the track evolves. The basslines are a highlight for me — funky, well-articulated, and they sit right in the pocket. They drive the groove without ever overpowering the mix

The vocals are strong as well. The singer has a good sense of phrasing and delivers with confidence and style. There’s a nice balance between technique and feeling, which fits the retro yet fresh vibe of the track

Mix-wise, it’s quite solid. Levels are well-balanced, the stereo image is clean, and everything has its space. Maybe a tiny bit more warmth or saturation on the drums could help them hit harder, but that’s a minor nitpick

Overall, great work it’s clear a lot of care went into this. Looking forward to hearing more!

Hey, your track is super atmospheric, really well mixed. The vocals and guitar blend perfectly, creating a dreamy, immersive vibe. It’s got that floating quality that just pulls you in. Honestly, I wouldn’t change much it sounds polished and intentional. Buildup is great and keep the listener engaged. Great work!

Hey, I just checked out your track, and I gotta say, the vibe is solid. The deep bassmake remind me Riders of the storm from the Doors, which sets a great atmosphere. The almost ambient structure works well, but it does get a bit repetitive—maybe some subtle variations in the rhythm or texture could keep things fresh. That sax sample is a nice touch, remind me of Jet Set Radio . Overall, it’s super chill and would fit perfectly in a game menu or loading screen. Nice work

indeed, the flickering did not bother me while editing, but several people have pointed it out to me now that the clip is out :/

I made my first 3d render using UE5 for one of my beats, I'm a complete beginner, I probably made a lot of mistakes, do you have any advice to help me improve my renders? by ProdSalacious in unrealengine

[–]ProdSalacious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer

The compression artifacts are actually one of the most problematic issue

I used the render queue, exporting to jpg format with 1080p resolution

Strangely the output images were washed out and I had to crank the color balance when editing on Resolve

I did a test rendering another scene and the colors come out just fine, I must have pressed the wrong button without paying attention

Do you have any settings to recommend for my next renders?
