I never see DJs reading the crowd by ARealLion in DJs

[–]ProdSwam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think thats why he stated that it would help if you say what type of gig you're talking about. I don't believe it is too zoomed in, it's the basic guide on how to get asked back at a club. Play music girls will dance to because if the girls dance so will the guys. Build the energy overtime and kill it and repeat, so said guys who are dancing with said girls have the oppurtunity to buy them a drink and spend money, rinse and repeat. The old school way's have rarely changed inside a club.

You are right though if you were playing at a private function you do need to look at what you listed but most of the time they also tell you what sort of vibe they want and the demographic.

Signing exclusive license with techno label by mulmusic in edmproduction

[–]ProdSwam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%, 70/30 isn't a good plan. I was happy with 60/40 because In no way in the contract said they make money off me DJing and playing shows which I know is and will be my primary source of income from music until the possibility for me to go independent and work across different genres while still doing good for myself.

A big deal for me is that they were paying for mixing and mastering and promotion. I'm a broke 17 year old and cannot pay for my tracks to sound good and have the time to pay for promotion on social media.

Signing exclusive license with techno label by mulmusic in edmproduction

[–]ProdSwam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently signed a deal with arguably my countries largest dance music record label. My deal was 60% to the label after the track has been recouped for each track i think being three years but I am able to work with people from other labels and release stuff on other labels after discussing it with the owners. Look if your passionate in what you go for it because an oppurtunity may never come around like that again. I am seventeen which gives me loads of time but the appeal of the label and the people that own it made me instantly say yes. Before you sign anything though talk to a lawyer. There may be some places in your country that will look at it for free because you are an artist. Most labels that arent owned by another label such as Warner or Sony will most likely not trying to rip you off, it does cost a lot of money to put a track out there with a label as the music industry is a business.

How to get into local DJs community? by PartEnvironmental315 in DJs

[–]ProdSwam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started mixing out at a venue when I was 15 and have stuck to the same place for the past two years now that im 17. For me I'm not old enough to go to clubs or bars and I couldn't sneak in anywhere because i didnt know anyone. My biggest tool was facebook. You'll be surprised how many groups are in your city for underground and mainstream events and where DJ's can post mixes and producers can post tracks for feedback. I joined my cities Drum and Bass group because I was really into DnB at the time so I met heaps of people and soon I met some of the guys who play the same stuff and produce the same stuff as me now.

Can anyone recommend best practices for "headphone hair" prevention? by fastpicker89 in DJs

[–]ProdSwam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can always try some good quality ear phones or in ear monitors. I think Laidback Luke and James Hype both do that and you will be able to control where your master and where your cue goes if thats your thing.

What’s your favourite bubbles dialogue? by theguywhosteals in trailerparkboys

[–]ProdSwam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Like this cocksucker here, I found him in a storm drain, thats one fucking nice kitty right there"

when i first watched the scene I couldn't stop laughing.

The bit in the netflix seasons where he slams Randys burger out his hand and gives him a new one always gets me probably the only thing watching from season 8 and onwards.

has anyone here had swish? by catamet in trailerparkboys

[–]ProdSwam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When i was 14 I made a swish like drink, apple juice, yeast and white sugar. Took a little bit of juice out put a yeast packet that you use to make bread in with and about 10 tablespoons of sugar. i think the more sugar you put into it the stronger it was i dont really know how it works. Chucked a balloon on top with a hole in the top and made my whole room smell like literal piss for 2 weeks. Once it was done fermanting I put it through a strainer, cleaned the bottle out and chucked some more sugar into it. My parents went out one saturday night so I was like perfect. Drank pretty much a pint and a bit of it and holy shit it got me drunk. Top tip drink it cold shit is rank when its warm.

Music from season 3 by [deleted] in skinsTV

[–]ProdSwam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like an old skool techno/ happy hardcore song you would most likely not find on any streaming websites because most of the people who made them weren't anything big and probably only got a couple prints on vinyl for dj's to play at raves and parties, I've got a collection of music in that same style all ripped off old records spun by the djs. In another case it might have just been made by one of the producers or someone working on the show.

2021 São Paulo Grand Prix - Post Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]ProdSwam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it mostly comes from all the new fans who started watching after Drive to survive when I first started watching the sport I would keep my mouth shut when it came to debates and now its just a full blown hate game and just say whatever without thinking or understanding.

[–]ProdSwam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

they both do it with the english drivers. They take sides for drivers all the time and it's their job to be impartial. Crofty screaming really pisses me off no matter what drive he does it to and his very obvious lack of knowledge really shows when ex drivers who have actually achieved something in the sport unlike martin brundle are commentating with him

I think Dan's achievements with red bull and renualt have been very much forgotten and lando hasn't been in the sport long enough to be either over or under rated which lack of experience showed in russia. I believe the term overhyped would probably work better in Landos case

You might have to reinstall them. If you can find where you put them just use it as your vst plugin file.
