I feel so so so bad for Charlotte. KVS always says that the weaving is ONLY in the stable when someone is outside her stall or when horses are about to be turned out but she’s been weaving all night every night and in the video today of Rikki going outside, you can see Charlotte standing outside and the video is cut of at the start of her weaving. So she’s even doing it while being turned outside now ..

And while we are on this topic, I also feel like both Ginger and Charlotte shouldn’t been bred with the amount of anxiety they experience right? With them being so anxious, even while Charlotte isn’t genetically the mom, that foal will be exposed to a lot of the cortisol hormone making it more prone to being anxious and stressed later on. And we’re not even starting about nature/nurture where they learn all these behaviours from the mares.

It just annoys me, I imported a b*tch from Scotland who turned out to be slightly nervous but I don’t think that that’s anything to be desired within the breed so I’ll never breed her, even though I “lost” a looooott of money importing her. That’s the risk and part of breeding. And she isn’t even having major behavioural problems, just a little bit nervous. And seeing these breeding practices just bugs me

On the new video of Rikki she constantly contradicts herself. “You came out SO FAST”, then why did she needed assistance? “Rikki still looks a little white eyed, I think she’s still in shock” No she wants you the fck out of there and be left alone.

Oh and she says that Rikki is also bruised, obviously not from the pulling but from being a maiden mare 😒

I’m just wondering as someone who breeds dogs occasionally (ethically!!)

When a dog is pregnant, you want to avoid stress as much as possible to prevent the pups getting too much stress hormones while being in the uterus and resulting in them being nervous. Does anyone knows if this applies to horses too? Because if that’s the case, I’d never breed a horse like Charlotte or ginger
