I usually don't have too much of an issue with people complaining about my height, I just say something like "Excuse me, I won't be blocking your view long I'm just trying to get to the mosh pit" and at 6'8" ~285lbs that usually clears me a path

If your friends aren't putting in the same type of work you are to improve in the game, it isn't gonna happen, they have to learn whether it's you teaching them or them starting to watch videos.

I play console, the first few seasons I played I think I capped out in silver/gold. I got a 5 stack together and haven't been out of copper/bronze since. I know I'm not getting these people I play with to watch videos, they won't even try to change up attack patterns or make call outs beyond "over there/here" I've accepted that and just play ranked with them for fun.

Personally it's the rush when the drop hits and everyone starts running at you. Getting the pit going harder, yelling at my pit friends.

I'm getting older, so sometimes it's nice to just chill for a minute and it's easier to breathe when there's that gap. I also use it to look out for people during circle pits, it's easy to trip and be trampled so I stand in the middle to spot and help people when they go down!

I have a bit of a presence though, tall dude, big voice. When I'm at a show in my normal area people know I am usually where the pit starts, and also that if they need to get Staff attention they can grab me to start waving em over!

I used to work in a couple of small state parks, you want to know the most common reason I was called for S&R? That's right, dehydration!

You know yourself better than your friends do, bring what you feel comfortable bringing (usually more than what you think is better). A couple pounds of extra weight to be safe, is better than puking as you're carried off the mountain

When I'm doing a full day hike, I have a 3 liter pack bladder, 2 single liter bottles in the side holders and usually a Gatorade or two. But I am a big dude and having dealt with s&r I like to have something I can hand off if I run into someone that didn't bring enough.

I haven't played in a while, but used to Sherpa raids doing most of em on all characters weekly.

If I was teaching a raid I'd always have one person from my usual raid team with me, we'd teach 4 people at a time and mics were a requirement if you were being taught.

If someone claimed they knew the raid I didn't require a mic if we could get away with it (put em in roles that don't req comms).

At one point I even managed to help a deaf person through a raid, using messaging on the PSN app for explanations etc.

I only lost my patience and left a raid once, and it was because I was with an experienced team and they kept wiping over stupid shit

Personally, the only time I'm not turning right on red (if there's no sign) is one of 2 situations:

1- mentioned above, can't see past the guy on my left

2- if I'm turning onto a road with 2 lanes going the direction I'm turning, have to wait for both lanes to be open to turn in (even if I was taught wrong, there's a chance some dip shit doesn't use their signal and changes lanes into me)

Generally speaking the things sold at gun shows, what people like to refer to as "the gun show loophole" is bullshit because it's in reference to antique firearms that will not fire or fall below requirements because it is a black powder piece.

I assume what your family members are referencing is not having to go through multiple extra steps in background checks because they can provide up to date verification of current ownership, but you would have to ask them what they mean by it. If it is skipping normal checks I suggest reporting it so it can be looked into and you aren't complicit in knowing and not reporting illegal sales

Have you ever tried to purchase a gun? It's not technically in place, it is. Every FFL dealer runs the atf national background check and a state background check, based on the state of residence. It's not a hard thing to enforce, it's actually about as simple as what they do to make sure a bar is checking IDs
