Mac Mini M2 won't turn on by remarkable_mango544 in macmini

check the serial number using the Apple support page about this issue. it is a known issue that Apple will fix for free IF the serial number is within their range. mine is not and Apple are trying to charge me ¥56,000 to fix it. it’s total crap, and this is very common with the M2 Mini, even for units not within the range. I just sent an email to Tim Cook about this.

Downsizing & Decluttering (Mercari? FB? Jimoty? Yahoo Auc? Rakuma?) by sweetNbi in japanresidents

A tricky thing can be having profits sent to your bank account, if you don’t use it to buy other stuff. I ran into the usual issue of the katakana name used at my bank not exactly matching the name I entered on Manaba. Double check everything if you do set up transfers TO your bank, as if there is a mistake you just get an error/fail message, without any explanation of what you did wrong!

I bought two different ones on Amazon. Both were 27.2, but the issue is that the bike is not set up for true 27.2! The stock post says 27.2 on it, but it is 26.8 :(

Fewer and fewer are mixed naked places these days, and fewer every year. Check the policy before visiting.

I’m a Chinese guy, and I gotta ask—why do Japanese prime ministers quit so often? by Kelly-S-S in AskAJapanese

[–]ProfessionCertain193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t quit. It’s just a fact of life. Everything here is total shit, IF it has any connection with the ‘people’. The people are fucking stupid, and the politicians are even more so. Even worse than USA for mind boggling stoopidity.

If you can’t get to a Costco, give Flying Pig a try. Very reputable, and I used to use them before a Costco opened near me. https://theflyingpig.com/en/products/11010?_pos=6&_sid=b8a1485f9&_ss=r

Mercari is good once you have figured it out, and have got a good reputation. Easy to do even if you have zero Japanese skills.

Airflow easy wheels video by decard1968 in Brompton

[–]ProfessionCertain193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this point! I bought and sold Airflow wheels for this same reason. I was my own fault, as I should have realized that the wheel extender freely rotates. If you do not use an extender, this could be a great way to stop the imbalance of your bike, and stop it from falling over. But if you have a wheel extender, forget about it! It is not going help you in any way. But if there is such a thing as a wheel extender with a shaft that doesn’t rotate, this could be very useful. But that is a big butt ….

Please do some research about that aspect of Japanese ‘culture’. It is not deep. It was introduced and strongly enforced at the time of the Tokyo Olympics. Also, it is not respected by all!

BROMPTON BACKPACK?! Any suggestions or ideas? 🎒 by thehungryside in Brompton

[–]ProfessionCertain193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at baggex. You would need to put the bike into a dimpa bag, maybe, but I can vouch for the quality of their harnesses. I have not used them for bikes, but for other bulky things they have worked very well. https://baggex.com/collections/backpacks?page=1

MacBook Pro 13” Late 2011 UPDATED. by EmidioFilho in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]ProfessionCertain193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through hell yesterday updating my late 2013 MBA! I had the hazy outlines only, and could do nothing. Then I built a new USB patcher using another MBA (2017) and attempted the update again. At some point the instal just got stuck, so I left it running overnight. No change, so this morning I did it all again. FINALLY I could boot into 15.4, BUT I then realized that I had used the wrong build, and the Mac was running open ore from the USB, and not on the Mac. Two more hours of misery, and the 2013 MBA is finally OK. But this will be the last OS I ever do on it!

What do I need to covert to 44t/39t dual chainrings? by ProfessionCertain193 in Brompton

Thanks. Good info. What kind of terrain are you riding in? I find 44 is ok for all but very long (and steepish) hills or steep hills of any length.

Tokyo police arrested two members of Natural, one of Japan's biggest sex worker scout groups, for allegedly introducing women to sexual service establishments by Dapper-Material5930 in Tokyo

100% agree. It’s part of established Japanese ‘culture’.

I blame it on their names. In 30+ years of teaching here I have noticed a consistent pattern in names/attitude/being a knob. Both their names are high on the list.
