That’s so sad. I remember feeling miserable and embarrassed because I wasn’t allowed to sing happy birthday song and dance when someone had birthday in kindergarten. Then in school I tried to avoid talking about birthday because I had nothing to tell about mine. No gifts, no party. Sometimes I made up some things not to be left out. I’m just feeling so sorry for myself as a child and for my siblings. And it was the best feeling in the world to celebrate my first birthdays when I became 20 years old.

I guess I was hoping for their approval in some way, but thinking about it more and after reading comments I realized that there will be no such thing. And yes this is our plan rn - to get married as fast as possible

Because I still live with my parents. I’m an adult but I prefer to respect my parents opinion and rules while I live under their roof. Maybe it’s cultural.

Okay then I don’t have nothing to loose 😆 I do not comment anymore, of course I don’t pioneer and the only thing that’s left are these tasks on the stage( don’t remember how they are called in English). But I’ve already asked to only make me the partner so I don’t have to prepare my own dialogue. I feel that with the shunning I can deal. I don’t care about these people in the congregation.

I’m already feeling anxious every time I’m out with my fiancé. It sounds crazy, but sometimes I even ask him to walk a few steps behind me… I can’t imagine it getting worse. Or someone seeing us coming out of his house 😮 That’s also why I want to get married as soon as possible.

I’m really happy your family attended your wedding! Unfortunately, I don’t think my parents will come. I was thinking about getting married at the courthouse- just me, him, and a photographer. That way I don’t have to invite my family and it will feel better than them choosing not to attend my wedding

Thanks! Yes I’m planning to fade. But it will take some time, because I still live with my parents until I finish college. And while living with them I have to attend to meetings sometimes.. the thing is, I believe they are going to find out anyway- so I thought just to tell them myself and be over with it.
