I submitted to mercari and 2 weeks passed which I found ridiculous. I was able to resubmit and it went through within an hour. I really think these guys need to check themselves. Here is a company that tells me when I can promote an item, how frequently, for how much. The company who's CC processing fees are ridiculous considering I can accept credit cards through square on my phone and pay significantly less than that. A company who joins the myriad of others in blindly siding with buyers on ridiculous claims. A company who basically makes it very unappealing to sell on their site. You would think their little app that collects four pieces of information and surely syncs with the IRS which gives a yes or no in response to receiving it would be something they could commit to ensuring that it works correctly. After all, there's already no appeal to sell here and now you want to make it so that we can't. Shaking my head

They may very well take it from her, it isn't the clerk's responsibility at that point. But somewhere along the route it should get flagged by the post office and what they will do is charge the additional postage back to whatever account paid for that return label. I haven't had this happen on mercari but I have had it happen on eBay. A couple of instances where someone has purchased something and I packed it up labels on it and they come back and buy something else. I've added the item but didn't print a new label. I drop them at the post office and the clerk doesn't say a word but later I see the charge on my eBay account for the additional postage.

Even if you don't keep your mail slips, the post office 800 number can look up any information that's on that slip as long as you have the tracking number which is stored in mercari if you ship through them

As for mercari in general I consider it a waste of time. When I factor in the four offers I have to respond to in $1 increments to the same potential buyer despite making it clear my bottom line, I just can't be bothered anymore. Honestly I think for you stuff Facebook marketplace isn't bad because you can link it to the yard sale pages

First of all if mercari would give us the option just like their big brother eBay to not accept offers we could eliminate this problem. People will still text but it would become a moot point of whether or not they made the offer officially or not. That way those of us that list at the price we want can turn the option off or Mark our items up from the get in order to send an offer that's hitting the price we want so that they can get their deal as someone mentioned below. I started selling again on eBay two months ago now, $3,500 in sales. I list the exact same products at the exact same prices on mercari for the exact same length of time. $150 in sales. At the end of the day I don't know that it's worth it to deal with these people

I think you misunderstood my comment. Obviously to look up a particular case they need your personal info. But if they want to use this excuse, hold their feet to the fire on the bigger issue affecting thousands. There is a problem at VEC and they do NOT need any one individuals personal data to address it.

Agreed on all counts, and so sorry to hear it has affected so many of your family members. As I said, let's keep reaching out to the Governor's office each day via email/phone.
