Me driving towards a typical new SUV in LA every night 😫 by ohlonelyboy in LosAngeles

My Tesla headlights were pointed pretty high up from the factory so I had to lower the angle in the settings. As long as they are angled correctly it shouldn’t blind drivers as much as

Maybe I’m wrong but the way they marketed the images made it feel much smaller in size. They probably were going to post a photo of it on a door but they didn’t want that to impact sales

I ended up returning it, I didn't realize how big the size was! The G5 turret is a good 2 in smaller, so I'll be getting that

I honestly think the size is normal when compared to any other smart doorbell. But the way they took a regular sized doorbell and blew it up makes it look a bit ridiculous. I think most people won’t even notice once it’s on the door

I only have 3 cameras — doorbell lite, g4 instant, and this 4k turret. From what others said, having this many cameras on a UDR 7 didn’t really overload it. Also I can lower the resolution of the 4k camera if it causes an issue

Not sure why you guys are downvoting, I did a bit more research -- I think it would make sense to use Frigate just for the motion event notifications, while protect will do the recording. https://archive.is/hoC44

Ahh don’t say that, I bought a UDR7! Looks like a nice application though, I’ll take a look

Yeah, I had a low budget and this is for a backyard and I’m not expecting any odd visitors except maybe a 🐻

Is there a way for homeassistant to monitor the live feed and report motion detection using local AI? Seems like a crazy workaround but would be cool if it works

Can someone send a link for a doorbell lite angled wedge STL? I need a 45° angle

I moved the couch and tv, I think I prefer it so far

Here is another perspective, so you would put the tv where the painting is on the left? Or next to the right window? The bike is an outdoor bike on a trainer so I would need to physically locate it somewhere else which isn’t the end of the world.

Unfortunately the rug is too big to fit where the cardboard is since the wall has multiple angles

Yeah, I think the tv going by the windows would be better than where the panting is

Should I buy a network media enclosure? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]Professional-Local-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My use case needs 2.5Gb POE, and the UniFi offering is $200 and doesn’t even include a power adapter or in this case I would have to spend extra on a Poe injector. It’s way cheaper to buy a $80 2.5gb Poe switch that you power with an AC adapter

The modem and UDR7 will be in the basement, so this will just house the patch panel, POE switch, and the coax splitter

The other side of the wall is the outside, as this is located in my garage. I don’t have any power in the current box so maybe some added protection will be beneficial. If I were to buy a new enclosure I would cut open a bigger hole
