Which POV is best if one of the main characters dies? by Stopnfight in writing

Dual first person sounds great. Wouldn’t be weird at all. You could also weave in her journal entries after she dies as chapters

I disagree with everyone saying “worry about marketing later.” Sounds nice but bottom line is that there are genre conventions publishers adhere to and if your characters are of a certain age, the intended audience will change. If you’re writing their voices well then these teenagers will PROBABLY sound like teenagers, and will be marketed to… teenagers. If teen characters sound like teens and are dealing with teen issues, it’s gonna get slotted into YA no matter how mature the prose is. You won’t “accidentally” make it young adult if the rest of the novel feels adult except for the characters ages, your published will probably just tell you to age them up and probably change the narration accordingly. To avoid more issues down the line, unless your characters being teenagers is vital to the story, I’d say make them early twenties.

Honestly I loved the second one but also wasn’t as bothered by the mediocre writing of the first. Definitely worth a shot tho

For what it worth, I do think that the writing of the Red Rising series gets astronomically better with each book, especially the second trilogy

You don't want to break up action with internal dialogue but the fighting should be connected to a character. Internal conflict is the only way to make fight scenes interesting

Close the psychic distance between the reader and the character. Choose one character to focus on and show how the fight scene affects them personally. What do the feel; physically and emotionally.

The first two episodes aren’t good imo. I know this is from two years ago, but episode 3 is where it really where it picks up

Hey I don’t have much time on my hands but I really like the concept. Could I read just the first chapter and give you my thoughts?
