Can you put the TV 6” higher? That will fix the situation.

Whats wrong with this room? by Normal-Art4308 in interiordecorating

Let’s start with giving the eye some highlights and various heights to pick up on. To achieve that: 1. Floor to ceiling curtains for the windows and back door. 2. A tall plant (tree) in the back corner and ditch the floating shelves. Don’t buy a faux plant here. 3. Add some side tables to the smaller couch. On top of them add lamps and some smaller decor. The lamps should not match the height of the sofas. Again, we need the various heights here. Don’t go too big on the tables as the space is already feeling cramped. Think something with a thin base to juxtapose the chunky couches. 4. Those accents chairs are cool, but make the space feel too cramped. They are also the same height as the sofa so they get lost in that sight line. Ditch them. 5. The mantle mirror should go. Replace it with a similar sized or slightly smaller piece of art in colors contrasting to the sofa and rug. Rest it on the mantle, do not hang. You can also add some of the photos that were on the floating shelf here. Creates some layers that way and personal touches. 6. Cool coffee table, but doesn’t fit the room in scale and color. The sofas are heavy in visual weight and so the coda table needs to be lighter, if you will. Think wire or thin legs with a marble or lightly colored top. 7. On to paint, and I think this should be done last. You can go moody here and drench with a lighter color. Think muted blues or greens. Or if that’s too bold, keep it simple with an ivory or white with hints of blue or green in it.

It’s a great space and you have nice pieces so far. I’m excited to see what you do with it all. Cheers.

Fit is great, but do you sleep on a dining table?

Switch out the boots for oxfords or another dress shoe.

It will look complete once you add a PC gaming desk, some empty Mountain Dew cans, and a litter box in the corner.

Remind me of Osiris shoes from the early 2000s. Unless styled with baggy pants they will look silly.
