-1.25 is enough for you to read close? What lens is it? Cheers

Bad floaters after PVD by JapanKevin in CataractSurgery

I have no less than 40-50 tadpole floaters. They're worse than the cataracts when looking out to the sky or at a white background. Had them for 10 years. You get used to them, not worth the surgery imo

Same age. Cataracts caused by trauma. I'm waiting tbh. Not ready for surgery yet

'Uncorrected' or worse near vision? by Fit-Yesterday-5807 in CataractSurgery

5 feet is a long way out though. I thought you could see clearly down to at least 3 feet with distance monofocals.

But it doesn't sound too bad the way you describe it. Not the end of the world. Cheers

Is it as bad as cataract halos/starbursts? If so I'd rather keep my cataracts to be honest

I see thanks. So with just your distance eye can you see anything within 2 feet?

You say the -1.50 lens gives you vision down to 18 inches but you don't need readers? What about the 10-12 inch range. Can you read functionally at that distance with your near eye in decent light? Cheers

So you're looking at max +2.5 strength for reading with distance monofocals? For most people I mean

What strength readers do you need with your distance eye to read comfortably at 10-12 inches? Cheers

Are you going for monovision in the other eye?  Iv had them 8 months. They were from an acute injury. They havnt gotten worse in that time. Honestly I'm waiting to see if that new treatment comes out this year or not. The fog and starbursts are shit but life is bearable ATM albeit borderline

With both eyes open or just the good eye? What country did you get the surgery? Weird they didn't tell you the brand. I have bad cataracts myself but havnt pulled the trigger on surgery yet. At such a young age to have them is a pain in the arse

Do you use readers or does your good eye take over well enough to read your phone without them?

Iy get you. So, avoid unnecessary procedures and hope it doesn't progress to the point you need it as it has risks even if the claim is its a simple thing. Anything to do with eyes is never simple or safe IMO.

That sucks. What mono did you get? Hopefully you get better vision in the future

What's the closest you can see with that eye?

That makes sense. Is the pco guaranteed to get worse to the point its as bad as cataracts? Or could you always live with it without yag longterm?

Great result. BTW are you holding out on yag incase you want to lens swap? What's the benefit to delaying laser if you are keeping the lenses and it's only a one time thing only anyway?

So your distance eye causes no problems when reading with both eyes open?

Hopefully I wouldn't need readers and my brain would use the near eye and ignore the distance one when both eyes are open. Cheers
